Your intrepid blogger has done work in Riverside County for several election cycles. Occasionally, we get tipped off about things happening in Riverside County that defy credulity. Allow us to update our political grifter series with one Kate Sanchez.

Why Am I Running?
I have known Kate Sanchez via her “involvement” in various Republican Groups. However, I never once heard about her making an impact or a difference in anything.
I was alerted to Ms. Sanchez via contacts in Southern California who were very concerned about Sanchez and the disruptive forces she has aligned herself with. Sanchez appears to have the crazed Desiree Ferraro (who I have known for 20 years) and the local 412 Church in her corner.
As someone who is so familiar with pseudo-evangelical candidates who run for office, they delude themselves into believing God called them to run. I generally suggest to those candidates to eat a balanced diet so they will not feel that burning sensation in their torso they mistake for the Spirit of the Lord.
I began to interview contacts in the area to verify the veracity of what I was told by my initial contacts. The patterns were all too familiar with grifter candidates.
What was different about Ms. Sanchez is that she lists a pedigree of affiliation with Congressmen and various political organizations. Typically, grifter candidates lack any sort of connection to anything current officeholders.
There were, however, several of the typical traits of a grifter. Let’s have a look at her own bio: (As written by her on her website, so I can not speak to its’ accuracy)
Kate was born and raised in Southern California. She attended Serra Catholic Elementary and Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita.
She did not graduate from College. Not a bad thing, just something I noted.
As the granddaughter of two military servicemembers, she was taught the value of service above self and the importance of being involved in her community. Whether volunteering at local hospitals, going on mission trips, or helping at her son’s elementary school, Kate and her family always found it important to serve others.
This is a complete stretch to play the military card. Red flag number one.
No specific acts or organizations are mentioned, making verifying the claims impossible. Red flag number two.
As a Latina, single, working mother, this is an issue of utmost importance to Kate. Every child deserves access to quality education of their parents’ choosing. A zip code should not determine opportunity.
The first time I read her bio, I was waiting for the obligatory mention of her ethnicity after the first two paragraphs. Yawn. Her photo is all that was needed. Red flag number three.
Kate believes in an open and transparent government. That is why she worked on consequential projects such as TransparentCalifornia.com.
Additionally, as the Executive Director for California Women’s Leadership Association (CWLA), she collaborated with women in leadership across California to further champion women’s involvement in public policy discussion and advocacy.
Kate is a proud graduate of Marian Bergeson Excellence in Public Service Series class of 2016. She is an active CAGOP and CYRF delegate. Her family has also lived in Orange County and the Inland Empire for over 30 years.
While these things sound nice, none are impressive. I was familiar with her as the executive director of the CWLA. She lasted 7 months. Red Flag number four.
Mentioning, “She is an active CAGOP and CYRF delegate.” Does not mean a damn thing to the public at large. (Fortunately, Kate most of my readers know those acronyms) This also tells me she did her website herself and does not have professional help with her campaign. Red Flag number five.
I am a WCRP and soon to be an NVGOP Delegate! So what.
However the biggest red flag I noticed about Kate comes from her LinkedIn Page.
She lasted with Darrell Issa for 5 months.
It appears she may have reconnected with him for 1 year and 4 months two years later.
She lasted with Ed Royce for 3 months.
In fact, the 5 items she lists on her linked in resume indicate an average shelf life of 7 months.
I can easily conclude that if the crazed Desiree Ferraro and others are successful in grifting her to Sacramento, being in the Assembly will be the best job she has ever had. (You don’t need a PHD to figure that out)
Grifter Alert Issued.
