For those of you that read the Orange County Register – you were treated to Eric Early’s DEI Op-Ed, where he represented himself as Diversity, and, in the interest of debate Equity, the powers that be must include him in the debate just concluded.

POLITICO and USC took a poll, said I came in 5th (out of more than 25 candidates), and then chose to only allow the top 4 onstage – in a state where 20% to 40% of the voters remain undecided.

Fair? Of course not. Arbitrary? Nope. I’m the only Conservative Trump-supporting voice on the ballot with a successful professional background, a great family and statewide grassroots support.  No need to wonder if that was the reason I was kept off the stage – it was.

Ummm… Eric, you were at 3%. Only the brain trust at the RNC allowed candidates that low in polling to participate.

In the mind of Eric Early, he believes there was a conspiracy to keep him and his 3% (FYI – The Same 3% that James Bradley has) off the stage. According to this screed in the OC Register, It is Eric Early that represented the Diversity sorely lacking from the just held debate. It was painful to read.

Adam Schiff was allowed to continue lying about Trump while the Joe Biden Republican offered little resistance.  By his continued waffling on the subject, Garvey made clear he didn’t want to be associated with Trump and might even consider voting for the worst President of my lifetime – Biden.

My Democrat opponents are indistinguishable from one another on policy, all hate Trump, and spent considerable time calling him a “threat to democracy,” an “insurrectionist,” and other fraudulent epithets.

Eric Early thinks he is the only candidate that failed to make the debate that agrees with the above statements. Besides being absurd, his op-ed sounded like some coalition phone call bitch session. I can play the tape of hundreds of those…

Mr. Early should know that James Bradley is far more of a Trump loyalist than He ever was. Bradley was practically shining Trump’s boots as he went down the escalator. Your intrepid blogger is old enough to remember when Eric Early was a speedbump in CA-28 in 2020 and the odd man out in the 2018 AG Race. Perhaps his proven record of failure in elections aided those that staged the 2024 CA-Sen debate in their decision.

The media brainwash artists will approvingly rate the debate a success precisely because of the failed leftist approach represented by the Democrats and virtually ignored by Garvey.

The debate was no success.  It was a snowjob. I stand ready with a shovel in hand to help get America back on the right track.

Please note Eric Early has raised $500,000 to be in 5th Place tied with James Bradley (at 3%). This is the same James Bradley who does not have enough money for an In-And-Out Burger.

In his own worlds, He is the only candidate that supports trump and therfore would have created diversity in the debate. Because he supports Trump he should have been included. Only with recognizing the diversity he provides, then including him you would then have had equity in the debate. Sad. Perhaps Bradley and Early can talk about how unfair campaign life is over a burger somewhere…

  1. So you’re for Steve Garvey?

Blogger’s Note: not sure yet. This piece in the OC Register was absurd though.

  2. OMG, this is effing funny!!!!!

( I should be careful however, cause I full well know the blog owner is going to crucify me soon enough)…..

    Still effing funny tho………

  3. Trying to be a realist on this. Steve Garvey is no Republican…he does not exposé our core values. But unless one of the minor candidates, like Early finds $20 million overnight and works at light speed spending it on mailers and TV ads the Dem’s will keep this Senate seat if we don’t vote for Garvey. And being open and honest–I don’t like Garvey, besides being a former frigging Dodger (Go Giants) he is as big of a moderate mess as Schwarzenegger was (and the CRP is still suffering the effects of that clown). But unless you are willing to have that worthless POS Schiff as our Senator, it’s time to ‘hold our noses’ and vote for Garvey. It’s a case of having a chance of having a pretty worthless Senator Garvey for 6 years as compared to a totally corrupt Senator Schiff. At least with Garvey Party leaders in the GOP can take him behind closed doors and ‘break an arm or two’ if he doesn’t fall in line with the Party with his votes. (And in full transparency, I support Early and have donated money to his campaign…but he needs a miracle at this late a date to ‘top two’—the ballots come out in two weeks)

  4. “Garvey Party Leaders”?

Oh, are you referring to Andy Gherakani, Shawn Steel, Betsy Mahan and let’s not forget Jessica Patterson and the late Kevin McCarthy (politically speaking), those “Garvey Party Leaders”?

WOW, how many leads on an EEG do you flatline on?

  5. 12 JAN 2024, per Berkeley IGS Poll:
    Shitty—–21%
    Porter—-17%
    Garvey—13%
    Lee——–9%

    ===========
Emerson College Polling/inside cali politics poll (18JAN2024)

    shitty—-> 25%
    Garvey–> 18%
    Porter—> 13%
    Lee—-> 8%
    Early—-> 3%

Still, no mention of ol Shitty living or not living inside of California….are the rumors true?
Charlie explains lots in his post. I’m not sure Garvey is even a moderate, by Republican standards. He IS running tho. He has an R by his name. Has the CRP endorsed him? Has any Repub organization endorsed him? C Bish claimed, she attempted to contact Mr Garvey and got snubbed. Good, bad? The beginning of something? Who knows. Charlie believes party leaders can ‘ lead’ this guy if he goes South. Eh, ok. Labor leaders tried that with Adolf, and look how that turned out? You presume OUR party leaders can lead anyone to anything at anytime. Eh, Ok. I don’t think they can lead jack much less shift anywhere or anyplace, at anytime. Speaking of, what IS the leadership feeling on this race. Haven’t heard much. Maybe it’s cause they censor Repub news up here in Northern California. What, the party doesn’t send emails? I don’t even think some people will hold their noses for ol Steve. Far too many have already voted. Early EARLY voters! Id say, given the numbers bantered around, someplace around 1.5 MILLION voters have already decided. They just left. Quit. Departed. Fled, insert cute word here, GONE.
Mr Early? Eh, ok. Hovering at 3-6% won’t cut it. After March, then what? 2026 for one.
All these posts may come back to haunt me, but like Charlies post, let’s be honest.
I personally believe Garvey won’t last 6 years. But that’s just me.
Hope for the best, be prepared for the worst. In the end, it’s GOD’s decision after all.

  6. Ten Democrats, ten Republicans, and three others running for an open seat. Starpower is big to California voters. The fame of the leading Democrat is promoting the “Russian Hoax” and unsuccessfully impeaching Trump. The fame of the leading Republican is a former Hall of Fame baseball player.

One would think that a state with a population of 40 million people (22 million registered voters) could come up with a few statesmen that could have a positive influence on our Democratic Republic.

Plato was right, “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors”.

Bloger’s Note: Excellent points. I am wondering why this comment about the cult of personality seems to fall on deaf ears regarding our Presidential Candidate. I seem to recall the #1 comment about Ron DeSantis is that he is “wooden”, of course Trump is anything but. Do people want to be entertained or governed?

  7. How much did you get paid for this hit piece this time?

  8. How much did you get paid for this hit piece this time?

  9. Susan? Where is the hit? Do you feel it’s against Garvey or early? Garvey is polling second, early isn even pulling double digits. (So sayers the numbers)

  10. From State of the Union article, Andrew Rodriguez—26JAN24

“Former MLB player and Republican Steve Garvey is gaining ground in the California Senate race as the March 5 primary nears, solidly in second place in the recent Emerson College poll, which would propel him into the November election.
Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff is barely ahead in the poll, but he faces controversy over his residency claims, allegedly designating both Maryland and California as his primary residences for tax benefits.
The revelations may pose problems for his Senate campaign. Despite Schiff’s campaign’s insistence that both addresses are year-round residences, evidence suggests otherwise, potentially impacting his standing in the race.”

What’s the word on Bisch’s accusation that Shitty isn’t a Californian resident? Any movement on this? Someone in the Political world knows something……..??

  11. Reply to Blogger’s note. Our Presidential Candidate, I believe you are referring to is Donald J. Trump. I agree “entertainment” is what a lot of the voters want. The media hates Trump but loves the ratings he provides.

Trump has the gift to suck all the oxygen out of the room and he has a proven track record on the economy, public safety, and domestic and foreign policy, He is a two-fer. Wooden candidates can do well in almost all political contests except POTUS, unless there is a pandemic, the media carries the water, and some ballot stuffing, but I cannot prove the latter.

  12. Son of Plato…Trump is the reincarnation of Teddy Roosevelt. Teddy had great foreign policies and good domestic policies and was admired by the blue collared voters. And like Trump, Teddy had that ‘Bully Bully’ ability to suck all the oxygen out of the room. Teddy drained a lot of that Washington Swamp 125 years ago….and Trump is doing the same and meeting the same resistance and tactics. (The ‘Billionaires back then hated Teddy, now they hate Trump…..History sometimes repeats itself)

  13. How could the voters of California choose anyone but Garvey?

I mean, the other three are laughable to a degree that it is insulting. It was five against one at the debate and Garvey still kept his cool.

  14. From the “washington examiner–15JAN2024

“While Garvey has not been endorsed by the California Republican Party, chairwoman Jessica Patterson said, “California Republicans are in a strong position to make the Senate race a two-person contest following the March primary.”

“A top-two finish with an incredibly strong candidate would not only serve as a great motivator to help turn out voters for our entire ticket, but it would also put our chances of picking up a Senate seat at the highest they’ve been in years,” Patterson said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. ”

So Aaron, what does the above mean to you? With what you stated, the other ‘3’, are useless. garvey stood against 5. Okay. The article states garvey is in it for Californians but not the party. Ok. Soooooooooo, to date, no endorsement? Is jessica hedging her bets? Is she withholding an endorsement for the benefit of the State or the Party?
Is she withholding endorsement until AFTER the residentials? Or because of the primary race? (hedging her bets) hmmmmm
Your own PARTY can’t endorse you, why would you want to run for any office?
Tells me YOU don’t even trust the guy………so now what?
lol, this is one example of WHY Republicans LOSE in this State so often.
And quite frankly, it pisses me off to no end.
    smh

  15. I don’t adhere to anything Patterson says. And what newspapers say is irrelevant these days. WE, The People are the media now.

The top two nonsense has to stop. I would say that even if California was a Republican supermajority state.

What happens if Shifty (or any candidate listed on both Senate races) makes the top two in each Senate race? I’m not knowledgeable enough to tease out the logic in the Senate ballot alignment. Seems to me (and I may be wrong) that candidates are running for multiple offices one on ballot?

ANY Senate candidate SHOULD be in it for the people (R or D) of the state. (Uni)Party allegiance is not always the answer.

We all know who is gonna bring out the voters for Garvey’s benefit. He does it every time.

  16. The problem is we need to get rid of Turd Two. That should be one of our main goals for 2026.

  17. If, by “turd two”, you’re referring to Gavin? That loser is termed out for 2026. As to trying to run for his seat? I’ll be doing just that soon enough.

    Matthew 17:20

  18. Hey, we can’t blame the Democrats for our own stupidity. The open Primary/Top Two was funded by GOP mega donor ‘Chucky Cheese’ Munger and championed by the Bhuler/Bakersfield/CCR bunch. We did it to ourselves and the Democrats simply harvested from our idiocy.

  19. Stats as reported this date……….1 FEB 2024
    Emerson College Poll/Inside California Potlics

    shitty—–> 25%
    Garvey——> 18%
    Porter—–> 13%
    Lee——> 8%

The others poll below 5%…………Early is at 3% holding the lead in last place over 5 others.
“Schiff’s latest ad boosts Republican Senate rival Steve Garvey. Rep. Katie Porter hates it”———LA Times

    Next debate is when??

  20. So does anybody know why candidates can run for two different positions at the same time? Am I missing something?

Charlie: I wouldn’t call Republican voters in general stupid. That kind of talk gets us nowhere. “We” didn’t do it to ourselves-THEY did it to us. Either we work to change the top-two system or we run more (better) candidates. Republicans infighting is EXACTLY what the system wants. Divide and (stay) conquered…if you wish.

Matthew Munson: And who/what is “turd two”?

  21. How did “THEY”, do it to anyone? What did THEY do? WHO are THEY?
No one forced people to vote the way they voted. The PEOPLE, voted how they voted. If you’re not understanding the process; don’t understand the language; don’t get into the politics; don’t care…..perhaps you shouldn’t be voting. (just a thought)
We provide NO Endorsement VOTES for folks we have doubts on, so what’s the difference?
Republicans?? lol……….wow. I’ve long ago decided, we have great Volunteers in the party! Those people seem to care and give a rats! Yes, one side seems awesome!
The other side? The political hack, side? smh……you people have issues.
You feign wanting to lead, but don’t. You feign wanting to win, but don’t or can’t. You feign supporting candidates, yet sabotage them or fail to provide real support (Volunteers seem to do that better, and yet you treat them like crap).
You feign WANTING more candidates, but fuss when you get them, and TRY to dissuade them from running. You SAY we have to support Republicans or we lose endorsements….my question is this:

Are we to support RHINO’s? Are we to support ‘I’m all about getting even with (insert name) because my sorry ass lost my seat/speakership?’ Are we to support the REPUBLICAN Choice for a candidate over a field of 10 other R candidates?
Let’s be honest……..Mccarthy. Hmmmm. He bailed on his own congressional seat. Ok.
HE, bailed. Left 1 year on the table. Now, word is he’s out for revenge AGAINST Republicans. Really? This is OK? THIS, is supporting the Republican Cause? Because HE got his wittle fweelings hurt, the party name is getting trashed?
Rumor says he’s going to jump into the CA GOV race for 2026. God, I hope not. He’ll be a big name! He’ll be liked by someone. He’ll be………….crap on the floor and proof how dysfunctional this party is in California politics. Be the KING MAKER, if you feel you can’t win an office much less stay in one. Be the bigger man, and prove your opponents WRONG about you. Don’t act like a dejected child, pitching a fit because your play station was taken from you.
Sulk in silence. Cry in private. But honestly, STFU about wanting to ‘get shorty’. YOU agreed to the rule(s) that got you tossed out of the position. YOU did.
We have a top two tier system. Great. Unless and until it’s changed by some dramatic event, it’s the rules we have to play by. You don’t have to like them, but you DO have to play by them.
STFU about not wanting to play by these rules. Start, learning how to WIN by working within the framework. You’re ‘perfect candidate’ isn’t there. JESUS isn’t running for office on the R side. Start getting REAL people to run, who believe in what they’re doing AND believe in the R side of the coin. Dog and Pony candidates won’t get it, sorry.
If Charlie was wrong about the STUPID comment? He was probably right, on WHO he directed it at. “The open Primary/Top Two was funded by GOP mega donor ‘Chucky Cheese’ Munger and championed by the Bhuler/Bakersfield/CCR bunch.”
and continued to be correct by adding: “We did it to ourselves and the Democrats simply harvested from our idiocy.”
We’re still crying from not being able to play by the rules WE established, while THEY kick our proverbial azzes up and down the State. (reread lengthy post above)
    2026………..we’ll see.

on a lighter note: meanwhile, news is reporting that Garvey and Porter are in a statistical tie for second place.

  22. You just disqualified yourself from running for ANY office. But we need you around, so don’t go away. Still waiting on an answer from someone more knowledgeavle than I about why/how candidates seem to be running for two positions…

The empty anger seems to come from a place of paid shill buffoonery.

Stop insulting the populace (both R and D) and start with a real adult conversation.

    I’ll begin…

How do we rid California of the top-two rule? Should we?

Is the top-two rule compatible with the U.S. Constitution? With the State Constitution? Can it contradict the U.S. Constitution? If so, why? Where are the powers vested in California to make such rules? Who told Californians it was OK to have such a system?

They want us divided. Divided we are weak.

  23. Oh Ms/Mr Melody,

I doubt I disqualified myself from anything to anyone. Truth hurt much? You’re sounding like an insider. Oh well, deal with it.
I’m not what you would say, politically correct. I don’t care much for you or about you to worry about YOU at all. But I’m sure, if you’d like to know my true feelings, you can always reach out and let me know how you really feel, and I’ll be happy to accommodate you in kind. Dark threats never worked on me before and they sure as hell won’t start impacting me now. I’ve also heard this threat before, as well.

Which candidate is running for two offices? I’m remiss on the details. Maybe if you were a bit more honest and open, and just say WHO you are talking about, you’d get a response?
Oh wait…….politics, gotcha. We talk in ‘subterfuge’.
Insulting the R-D population? Hmmm, ok, if you say so.

You got the rule from the Repub party, now you want to tank it? lol
Should we tank it? Ask the people who put it there. Maybe they have an idea.
Now you’re worried about the Constitutional impacts? Me thinks, you should have bothered with that long ago.

What part of the REPUB party is divided? Moderates vs Hard core vs Rhino’s??
Ah, ok. If you say so.

  24. Dark threats? Where? When? By whom? Toward whom?

    Hmmm.

  25. By you, at me, your post.

  26. Sample Ballot for every party shows Shifty, Harvey, Lee, Porter, Early, Gilani, and Pascucci as running for full term Senate seat as well as the partial term Senate seat. All other candidates are only on the full term ticket.

    Make it make Constitutional sense.

  27. Someone is making false accusations and damaging my character in print…

    I’m not the enemy.

  28. A wise man once said not to feed trolls.

A wiser older man was said that if you argue with a fool, that makes two of you.

  29. Someone is lying (Melody)
No false anything. Your character? Yea whatever.

You sure act like one. (to the question: “I’m not the enemy.”)

Those who don’t want a war, should refrain from starting them. However, in todays world, people are JUST supposed to take it and be silent. Ah, ok.
    Not.
    Wrong person.

  30. Melody stated:
“A wise man once said not to feed trolls.”
(Glad you identified yourself honestly, finally. So, that’s that.)

A wiser older man was said that if you argue with a fool, that makes two of you.
(First of all, you’d have to have an argument with the fool in question. As to you? No argument was needed, you already admitted to being the troll you are from your first comment).
    Enjoy your pixel time.

  31. Blogger (or commentors) needs to set this guy straight. Or at the least post a blogger note about the tactics of division and hatred being employed on this comment section.

They want us divided. Divided we are weak.

  32. It makes Constitutional sense that anyone that wants to can run for the office in the November election should be allowed to including ‘write in’. Any party, Republican, Democrat, Liberians, Peace and Freedom(commie). American Independent, Green or not affiliated should be able to run if them make the ballot requirements. The primary system is/was for the parties that want to use the system to choose their candidate. This ‘only the top two’ in the General Election is garbage. Thank ‘Chuckie Cheese’ Munger and the RINOs for it…it has decimated the ranks of the GOP!

BTW poll out today…Adam ‘Schiff for Brains’ is polling at 25%. The next two Garvey and Porter are in a tie about 15%…everyone else is not even in the game (Lee around 7% Early and others around 1-2%). SO……We need to hold our noses and vote for Garvey unless we want two Democrats in the top two!!!!!

  33. Aaron Melody…. “Someone is making false accusations and damaging my character in print…” OH GAWD I CAN NOT LAUGHING…. ‘your character’ (looks like someone is thin skinned with a big head…hahahahahahaha)

  34. Hey Charlie! Maybe you don’t know this, but Lynyrd accused me of a serious crime. My character has been attacked in print with false accusations of me committing a crime. This crossed the line of “legal” speech and blogger and Lynyrd both know it. Thus why they are quiet.

  35. Ok, we vote for Garvey in the full term race. Who do we vote for in the partial term race? Garvey as well? Still waiting on someone smarter than me to make this all make sense.

  36. Aaron Melody…’legal line’? In politics? Really? They do it to Trump everyday…and even Aaron Park calls me the ‘Lance Corporal that has to burn the shitters’ laugh…but that is OK because Park is a Navy Vet…and Sailors are “A lower from of Marine life without a backbone’…lol Ya know if we all don’t get some thicker skin we will never defeat the Democrats and lead in this state again!!!!!

  37. Charlie: I don’t think you caught the gaslight attempt from Lynyrd.

He stated I made dark threats against him and that he’s heard this kind of threat before. WHICH IMPLIES I INDEED MADE A THREAT-WHICH IS ILLEGAL. ALL THAT WITHOUT STATING WHAT THREAT WAS MADE. Get it now?

Nobody here knows just how thick my skin is, so let us not make assumptions.

United we are strong. Divided we are weak.

  38. Aaron Melody…with all the ‘Blovators’ and bloviating in politics…you really let that bother you?

  39. 5 FEB 24: “Another televised debate is in the works for California’s Senate race. The top four candidates will meet again on February 12th. Democratic Representatives Adam Schiff, Barbara Lee and Katie Porter joined Republican Steve Garvey on stage in Los Angeles yesterday. They touched on several topics such as abortion, green energy, homelessness, and violence in the Middle East. The two winners from the March primary will face off in November.”

So, another round of, discussion on the 12th. Should be entertaining to say the least.
Maybe, Garvey will be more direct with responses?
What will Mr Early say, again, about not being invited to THIS debate/discussion group for the 12th, if the 1st diss set him off so bad. Interesting.

    The race continues.

  40. Been watching ‘Schiff for Brains’ commercials on TV. It is clear to me what he is doing…He is trying to make the race between him and Garvey now by giving Garvey lots of name recognition as “too conservative and voted for Trump” (like those are somehow bad things?…laugh). I think old ‘Schiff for Brains’ is trying to make sure the race in the fall is between him and Garvey… because he realizes that if it becomes Dem versa Dem in the fall hardly a Republican in the State will vote for him and many independents may not vote for him either in November. If its him versa another Democrat old ‘Schiff for Brains’ loses in fall. Hopefully his little plan backfires and the Dems lose that seat!!!!!! (gawd that would be wonderful!)

  41. Charlie, you are right…..shifty’s commercials are a hoot. Today on the morning news of KFBK, they stated perhaps shifty is giving himself too much credit toward Garvey, that now some in the DEMO circles are starting to perspire?? When your opponent starts to mess up, however, you don’t want to get them to stop. Let him play, the Garvy card. Kewl……
Let us see, how Mr you-know-who fairs this time, on the debate stage. Preferably better than the last time……but that’s just me.
I’m there with you: Let’s hope his plan does indeed, backfire. If it seems like it is, you’ll know it by the difference on the commercials they’ll play.
On two other top notes of imortance:
Sacramentoan Valenzuela wants to raise taxes near 400% on professional license holders, because they haven’t gone up in over 30 years AND, the city is 50 MILLION in the hole. lol…….a Socialist crying IM BROKE …..funny.

Also, Toby Keith passed at age 62 due to stomach cancer (RIP)

  42. So if Shifty and Harvey finish in the top two of each of the separate Senate Primary races, then what?

I’m still looking for somebody to make this make sense.

And I agree that we should get out of the way when someone is destroying themselves.

  43. Hey Charlie!! I got my early voting forms yesterday. Ah…..hmmmmmmmmmm
PROP 1———–needs to be voted as a NO!!!

I sucked it up for garvey, we’ll see where that goes.
    Trump….nuff said.

So, NOW they wanna remove ol Mitch from the leadership role. Good. He should have been gone ages ago. They should’ve tanked merkowski’s self as well.
I never did understand the myorkus ruckus. Impeachment, smh. The dude is a useless tool. He’s doing the job he’s been ordained to do by pahpah. If this was all just to bring attention to the problem, hmmmmmm….1 step up 2 steps back?? smh……
The REAL issue they should be trippin over, is WHO gave uncle Joe the power to strike enemies, without congressional knowledge? Or approval? Even after the Gulf of T incident, the pres went to congress to get approval for reaction.
Ovber 165+strikes against the US, and very little response in return. Uncle Joe is dang near worming us into a proxy war against psycho’s. And, he’s sanctioning Israel?? lol…..Oh yea, you sure can t rust the ol US of A to have your back, while uncle joe is around.
Can’t WAIT till that ueless individual is gone from office.

ps….news stated last night, Kamala is gearing up for 2028 Presidential run. HA!! Don’t make me laugh. She couldn’t even handle the first ROUND of the Demo selection process, how in the H**** do you ever believe she’ll pass if she tries it again?? Thankfully, it means she won’t be a pest in CA GOV race for 2026. Good.

    next………………….

  44. today’s news:

    “https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/adam-schiff-s-sneaky-campaign-tactic-is-a-danger-to-all-democrats-but-adam-schiff/ar-BB1hZNmE?ocid=entnewsntp&pc=U531&cvid=92eeaa92461c465e922c6e33285fb7cb&ei=53”

    too funny

  45. I think Early deserved to be on the stage as much as Lee and Porter. Those two are amateurs and are hired political assassins. Why not have top two Republicans and top three Dems? Early is right, there was no diversity of opinion on that stage.
