Conservatives, you blew it. You can do better.

Let me start off by saying we don’t need this. For the first time in Memory, California’s GOP election results were better than the national average. My primary criticism of the CAGOP is that while they are engaging in their control tactics to exclude conservatives, they are losing elections. So far, we know that we have gained an Assembly Seat (while losing one). It looks like John Duarte is going to carry CA13. Greg Wallis, the one-time Chad Mayes staffer may swipe AD41 and in SD16 it looks good for David Sheppard to clip Melisa Hurtado (who beat Andy Vidak in 2018).

I wrote about the SD04 Debacle, that is 0% to do with the CAGOP and 100% to do with the consultants and leadership in the California State Senate.

There were other races that shocked the heck out of people with the outcomes.

Contrary to the Hair-on-Fire election fraud crowd conspiracy theories that bellowed HOLD YOUR BALLOT! BRAAAAAAAAAK! ONLY VOTE ON ELECTION DAY! BRAAAAAAAAAAAK!!! California Republicans voted early, voted at vote centers, walked their mail ballots in, etc. And, you will be shocked to know that in many parts of California Republican candidates GAINED as the counting continued. (The fact that it takes a month is absurd and is another issue for another post) California proved that the reasons late counts always seem to go dem is because Republicans refuse to vote the way dems do, but amazingly when Republicans use the rules as stated (see also California) those ballots get counted too! DOH!

So why, in the backdrop of this, have many of my Conservative Friends chosen to incite drama? This only helps the squishes keep control of the State Party – it is especially poor timing given that there were several electoral successes in California for the GOP!

Several Conservative County Chairs Led by Dan Brown called a special meeting of the County Chairs Association. The CCA has its’ own by-laws. Based on the information I have right now, it is clear that Dan Brown (who I talked to) from Yolo County led the effort and that the CCA”s by-laws were followed. (There is a caveat, read on)

The way the meeting was called and handled, while technically legal under the by-laws looked an awful lot like an Andy Gimmecandy /Scott Grimace Winn / David Stafford Reade by-law abuse special. There were claims the meeting was not noticed, that is crap as I was forwarded the notices by various people. There were claims they failed to meet quorum, those are also crap (with one caveat, read on).

The now former CCA Chair had her life beset by tragedy and a long Covid-related illness. That really sucks and it has to hurt worse given what has happened since.

The Chair of the CCA’s slot was vacated as as result. The meeting was to fill it as the CCA by-laws do not automatically promote the Vice Chair to Chair.

The way it was handled was a mess. I am going to spare a lot of the details because the California Republican Party is now involved. Yes, the same people who refused to investigate ineligible convention delegates, allowed Yuba, Tehama and Glenn County to Violate State Law but at the same time smashed Modoc County are suddenly worried about the by-laws of an independent organization? Spare me.

When we complained in Feb 2021 about Richard Sherman the LAGOP Emperor appointing 22 delegates to the CAGOP to fill slots left vacant by the lack of a Republican on the General Election Ballot (aka where a Rep failed to file or make the runoff), they claimed they had no authority over the LAGOP. The truth is the three counties that illegally organized and the LAGOP Chair that filled 22 empty districts were all aligned with the current leadership of the CAGOP.

Further, please note that after being exposed, the LAGOP CHANGED THEIR BYLAWS to allow the Chair to Appoint the vacancies proving that our beef was legitimate and also proving the corruption of the CAGOP’s Staff that allowed the ineligible delegates to participate in the 2021 officer elections.

Now, the same CAGOP cares about who the CCA Chair is.

Chairwoman Guerra-
Thank you for your letter to Chairwoman Jessica Millan Patterson regarding your election. She has asked staff to review the matter before formal CRP recognition.
In order to recognize the election, we need the following information provided to me and our Director of Operations, Danielle Cullum (copied).
  • The notification that went out to all county chairs
  • The names of the members used to establish a quorum (and any subsequent quorum calls with the names used to establish a quorum)
  • Minutes from the meeting
  • Vote records with names
Please note that this is not usually a necessary step in the process, as all prior CCA meetings where an election was conducted had a CRP staff member in attendance as an observer. However, because the CRP observer was not present, the above information is needed for CRP recognition.
Thank you kindly!
-Bryan

Note the wording of the email. Also note that the CAGOP does not have jurisdiction to affect the affairs of the CCA. I do find it fascinating that Mr. Watkins references that a CRP Staffer is present at the CCA meeting. If so, why is there not one present when County Parties Organize? The missing part to this is that the CCA almost always elects their officers at a CAGOP Convention and this special meeting to fill a vacancy was just that, special. Lastly, note his request for subsequent Quorum calls. This shows Mr. Watkins does not know the CCA’s By-Laws either.

There have been a lot of personal haymakers flying around. People need to shut up and concentrate on the goal, you know registering Republican Voters, getting them to the polls, recruiting candidates, raising money, etc. None of this BS does that.

I have a lot of friends on both sides of this mess. There are some that have gone on a personal rampage to settle scores, they should stop. The way this meeting was done should speak for itself, it was poor tactics and strategy.

Lastly, I was sent a copy of the minutes of the meeting.

They had 22 in attendance to establish Quorum. No big deal. The CCA’s by-laws work the same as the CRP and any other group’s by-laws, once you get quorum you are good for the duration.

There were a couple of issues. I saw that Fred Whitaker, the OCGOP Chair and Paula Whitsell the SDGOP Chair were listed as being present in later parts of the minutes. Neither were present or gave a proxy. Why were they mentioned? Their mention casts an even worse light on the meeting.

Sonoma County Chair and North Coast Regional Chair Matt Heath left the meeting early on, yet seemed to have sent an apparition of himself to re-appear on to the zoom call 5-10 minutes later. Someone pointed it out. Mr. Heath has been torching anyone that gets in his path since.

Did some idiot decide to impersonate Matt Heath? Fred Whitaker? Paula Whitsell? If so why? I am trying to understand why anyone would think that is a good strategy, but I can’t get my head that far up my ass.

This is what the problem is, this mess and the issues herein undermine any moral superiority the conservatives have in this whole situation. We all know the CAGOP Staff are biased and they are showing it again, but good Lord people why make it easy for them and WHY give the consultants cover to pull more of the same crap they have done for years?

At the end of the day, Michelle Guerra will be CCA Chair for about 3 1/2 months and the establishment will line their people up behind whomever and will get their person elected CCA Chair in March. This may not have happened if this current situation was handled better.

It was supposed to be a red wave, and it wasn’t? Was it Trump’s Fault? The Dobbs decision? Mitch McConnell? Kevin McCarthy? How about All of the Above – and more…

I am frankly sick and tired of the hair-on-fire election fraud conspiracies. For example, here in Washoe County the camera in the counting room went down around 11:30PM Wed Night and was fixed sometime Thur AM. NO ONE WAS IN THE OFFICE. But the same conspiracy mavens were there Thur AM with protest signs demanding God knows what. That once incidence has touched off conspiracy tweets all over the country and my home county features a cadre of hair-on-fire nutjobs convinced that the 7,000 vote margin for the democrats against Adam Laxalt was rigged.

Please note that the camera in the counting room was not required to be there. It was placed there as a courtesy to concerned citizens.

When you buy into a conspiracy, the very destructive by-product is that it is a cop-out for doing any honest analysis of the election. Donald Trump has been able to avoid any consequences for his actions that contributed to 2020 being converted into a 50-50 election instead of a landslide. It will also be a tactic to avoid taking a look at Donald Trump’s role in the 2022 election.

Let’s start with some obvious stuff:

SUPPORT YOUR NOMINEES. Seems simple, but it is far from simple.

In Nevada, several Republicans stood up and opposed the Treasurer, Secretary of State and Attorney General Nominees. All three lost. The Governor, Lt Gov and Controller nominee had no such opposition – they all won. Read this sentence multiple times if needed.

In Nevada – the second-place finisher Joey Gilbert sued the eventual Governor Joe Lombardo over the primary result claiming election fraud. Mind you, Gilbert lost 40-29 in a 15-person field! To this day, he and his hair-on-fire crew believe they won the election and continue to bang that drum.

How many voters in Washoe County stayed home because of Joey Gilbert’s lawsuit? Gilbert’s lawsuit was funded by Robert Beadles who has been in the national media several times because of his behavior and unbelievable conspiracy theories. Beadles who is a multi-millionaire from Crypto also spent tens of thousands of dollars on a slew of candidates who lost. Many lost by gigantic margins.

FYI – Gilbert lost the lawsuit so bad he owes Joe Lombardo nearly 100,000 in legal fees. Imagine what Lombardo’s campaign could have done with that money for his campaign instead?

Beadles is claiming the November 22, June 22 and God knows whatever other elections are all rigged. He sends emails out to thousands of people. Think about the effect this has on people – it certainly discourages many from voting and/or doing constructive things to help.

VOTE EARLY DAMMIT!

It snowed in Reno on Election Day. It rained in buckets in Orange County. If you have a ballot, fill it out and turn it in as fast as you can. Why?

You could get in to an accident, get sick, the weather could be foul, all kinds of stuff could happen on election day. Get it over with. No one will ever know the effect of the weather on elections returns in those areas.

Think of all the money candidates spend on targeted cable, digital and mail – if you vote you could save candidates thousands of dollars as you will be removed from the list once your ballot is received.

Lastly, if you lay awake at night worrying about the horrible leftists stealing your vote and voting in your place – THE PERFECT WAY TO STOP IT, is vote first before they can steal your identity!

Republican candidates almost always find themselves in holes then spend the next two weeks pulling out of the hole created by Republicans refusing to vote early. IT is about time Republicans accepted the elections process and used them until we get majorities to UNDO THEM! What a novel concept.

STOP WHINING AND DO SOMETHING!

It is so much easier to believe a conspiracy then actually rolling up one’s sleeves and doing something.

What is doing something?

Knocking on doors and telling people about your candidates. This is the #1 most effective thing you can do

DONATE MONEY. Even $50 helps. Imagine if you and your friends wrote checks out to candidates – it would add up quick.

Make phone calls, not as effective as door-knocking – but is a great option for those unable to walk.

At the bare minimum, talking to friends, neighbors and family about who you are voting for and why.

What is NOT doing something?

Standing on a street corner waiving a sign

Sitting on Facebook or other Social Media venting your spleen

Complaining

I saw many good people in the 2022 election cycle caught up in completely counter productive activities and it did not help.

WHAT SPECIFICALLY AFFECTED 2022?

Decisions of Republican Leaders.

Republicans always get outspent, it is baked in the cake. This means Republicans have to make smart decisions about campaign spending. Many people have written ad naseum about Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy’s choices with regard to candidates they support.

Donald Trump made 2022 Election About Himself.

For the first time in anyone’s memory, a major contender for President 2 years hence made an announcement before the mid-term election. There is no doubt in the minds of most people that this brought tens of thousands of dormant democrats to the polls. In Nevada for example, democrats only had a lead of about 8000 ballots at the end of early voting. Their turnout was projected to be mid-40’s in Nevada. It will be just short of 50%. GOP Turnout will hit its’ projected 51% Given that dems have a 3 point edge in registration – it is amazing that Joe Lombardo held on to win the governorship.

The Dobbs Decision.

Democrats were demoralized before this occurred. It fired up the dem base. The statistics are undeniable.

Candidate Quality.

The GOP nominees in NC-13 and OH-09 were disasters. WA-03 is another. (All lost red districts)

Dr. Oz was so badly beaten up by Mitch McConnell, he could not recover. Blake Masters looked strange and like a little kid. It does not matter how good they were, this is the reality.

Between the GOP Establishment savaging people in the primary leaving them a bloody mess and some of the nimrods the GOP nominated that was a recipe to trim any red wave.

STOP LOOKING FOR A SAVIOR:

This is about the GOP, not a personality. Conservatives have a fatal flaw, since they have a concept of a higher power and generally lean towards Judeo-Christian values they can be taken advantage of by charlatans.

I’ve seen so many and various levels. Chuck DeVore, Tim Donnelly, the Tea Party etc. The result is one self-serving narcissist after another sucks people dry emotionally and discards them and the effect shrinks the base of the Republican Party.

For those of you that are people of faith, pray for wisdom and discernment. If a candidate seems too good to be true they are. RightonDaily has made a career out of lambasting frauds.

The answer to winning elections is only partially about the candidates and people. We have a savior, his name is Jesus Christ and he is not on your ballot.

CONCLUSIONS:

  1. Recruit better candidates. Many non-establishment candidates do win, have a look at those guys and figure out why
  2. Exercise discernment. This will save you from getting taken in by frauds
  3. Get over it. Vote early, get others to vote early. We need to start banking votes and not letting the dems take huge leads on us
  4. Deliver a message in terms anyone can easily understand. The focus on the kitchen table issues is a huge level of protection against outside events that throw elections (Dobbs / Trump)
  5. You, yes you need to get to the front door – phone calling is a good alternative if not physically able
  6. You, yes you need to stick a crowbar in your wallet and donate money to candidates
  7. Avoid the easy stuff like social media and sign waving that wastes time and changes no one’s mind

25 years and counting in this game and the themes are consistent. The GOP needs to adapt or it will die.

UPDATE: We’d like to thank David Bass for being a reader of Right on Daily. It appears that within a short period of time, Mr. Bass made a complete revision to his original facebook post that was the subject of this blog. Should Bass gain election to the Rocklin Council, I hope this has been a teachable moment for him. The unforced error was not necessary.

This post replaced the post written about below. This should have been the original post, along with a warning / request to people to stop stealing signs.

Dear Mr. Bass – as you know and have said repeatedly there are ample grounds for lawsuits. Imputing motive onto someone campaigning for a School Board candidate in an attempt to make a political point is one such tort. Remember, the man pictured is a private citizen and the standard for defamation is different.

Wait, is that a Vote Biden Shirt on the person with the Hamilton Sign in Hand? Does this mean he was stealing or removing the sign? Bass???

So the viewers of this blog can see that indeed while complaining about a nasty campaign, Bass attacks a supporter of some School Board candidate as being a part of some conspiracy on Matt Oliver’s behalf. This is likely an outright lie, and is at the very least a stupid move.

I decided to make an issue of this, because Bass’ attack helps the leftist School Board Candidates and could be an indicator that Bass knows which side his bread is buttered on. Bass had at one point displayed the endorsements of Rick Miller and Michelle Sutherland on his website. Bass also got money from Miller for his campaign.

This is a mistake by Bass and will cause him a lot of problems going forward with the much larger conservative base of Rocklin should Miller and other leftist school board candidates gain election.

This blog reminds me that Bass really needed to spend a few bucks on a campaign manager because this mistake was easily avoidable. Bass is showing a similar lack of discipline to what his crew says about Matthew Oliver.

Allow me to remind the readers of Right on Daily – I have not formally endorsed anyone in Rocklin. That said, I oppose Rick Miller, Michelle Sutherland and Jen Brookover for School Board as all have demonstrated their desire to brainwash our students with vile disgusting crap and they have also demonstrated an open hostility to anything resembling faith.
