Have a look at this screenshot from the San Mateo County Ballot. Note what is missing.
Is the “Leadership” of the CAGOP intentionally trying to drive the party into the abyss? Why should anyone fight for a CAGOP endorsement if running statewide?
The CAGOP held its endorsing convention after the SOS deadline for inclusion in the sample ballot. Did Kevin McCarthy tell his minions to do this on purpose? This is idiotic.
Note Placer County. Also note the error in AD01, Gallagher is AD03.
The fact that Placer County’s ballot has some endorsements listed proves that the CAGOP leadership could have gotten the statewide endorsements in to the ballot if they wanted to.
For my purposes working with Cordie Williams for Senate, this is a huge blow to Mark Meuser as his primary advantage over Cordie has been nullified. Meuser does not have a pot to piss in, so he is not going to be able to use the bulk mail permit that you get with a CAGOP endorsement.
You’d think I’d be happy, given that I opposed Brian Dahle’s endorsement by the CAGOP (I worked with Jenny Rae Le Roux at the time).
I am not. This stupidity means that there will likely be no Republicans in the runoff again for all statewide offices. Again.
There is a democrat turned NPP named Schellenberger whose campaign is being run by all the Arnold people. (Think party destroying trump-haters) Schellenberger is wealthy and now has an easier time leapfrogging the 4 viable Republicans seeking that office.
Rob Bonta is spending a million+ dollars trying to nominate Eric Early in the AG race, knowing that Nathan Hochman or Ann Marie Schubert (who still refuses to prosecute Bill Brough) would be a much bigger threat. Hochman got endorsed by the CAGOP and has raised a ton of money but his level of difficulty is far higher due to this decision by CAGOP “leadership”. Bonta would not be spending millions on Eric Early if the CAGOP did their job.
You could also have a non Republican in the runoff in the Insurance Commissioner race.
This behavior and decision by the CAGOP to continually do stupid things gives credence to those that think it is a deliberate suicide pact.
If the CAGOP endorsed candidates miss the runoff en masse – this will be the latest confirmation that the CAGOP is a joke and is dead. This time, it is not your intrepid blogger saying it, it is their actions causing it to be true.

We need to go back to 2 conventions/state meeting a year so we can endores. This one late spring on election years was just more of the ongoing stupidity of the CRP! They care more about power than winning elections!
Intrepid Blogger, the sreenshot you reference as San Mateo County is actually Orange County for the Statewide Constitutional Offices only.
I believe San Mateo County was the only County Voter Information Guide to show Republican endorsements for Statewide Constitutional Offices, endorsing Lanhee Chen for Controller and Eric Early for Attorney General.
The CAGOP needs to revise its intellectually, morally bankrupt endorsement process to be in line with the California Election Code and the Secretary of State Election Calendar.
I have one word for this: DISGUSTING!
Forget calling the GOP Democrats the UNIPARTY .. call them the ME PARTY .. because their attitude is, “What’s in it for ME?”
Disgusting!!!
The CAGOP has used proxies like Democrats use mail-in voting. Both are based on fraudulent votes and neither is representative of the people.
Carla, agree 100%!
and the California Party of Irrelevance continues……..
Do I understand correctly that, to meet printing deadlines, the endorsements would have to be done before the filing deadline? Really seems wonky to hold endorsement votes before you even know the full roster of candidates. (Sure, well-prepared candidates don’t wait till the last minute, but still.)
Definitely a frustrating situation that needs correction somehow.
Bluntly….Blame all this luncy on Charles Munger Jr…He funded the top two primary prop thinking it would help his ‘moderate’ Republicans. All it did was impower the Democarts and made the GOP a minor party
