I still do not understand the affinity that some have for Bryno Maryott. He is a Massachusetts Liberal transplant to Southern Orange County. Aside from getting elected to City Council in a Small City he is an accomplished loser in campaigns.

I may not be in Congress, but I did stay at a Maryott Inn Express Last Night…

Bryan Maryott got a BA from American International College in Springfield Massachusetts. He served as a staffer for the Massachusetts General Court and was then a Chief of Staff for a legislator in Massachusetts.

It is a fascinating entrée in to the vacuum that is Bryan Maryott. I am curious as to why these facts are never discussed in the conversations about Bryan Maryott. Only the star power of Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump allowed them to overcome skepticism about their sincerity of conversion to the GOP. Bryno has a host of anti-growth and fee-raising votes on local government commissions on his resume since assuming city council.

Right before Bryno got smoked by Mike Levin in 2020 there were some fascinating quotes in the OC Register:

Maryott said he believes in recent years the Republican party has struggled to connect with voters on an emotional level over key issues. And he said President Donald Trump’s “bombastic” style — which he said he isn’t his personal “cup of tea” — is causing some blowback for down-ballot GOP candidates.

Trump-Bashing to pander. Check.

Moderate Republican

Maryott started out as a Democrat, and in his 20s worked for Massachusetts State Rep. Paul Caron….

Though he still believes both parties have “noble ideas,” Maryott said, “I’ve been pretty comfortable as a Republican the rest of my adult life.”

So Bryno is not even honest about the breed of Republican he is let alone his pedigree as a former Socialist.

Here is another article that covers how Bryno got his ass kicked in 2018.

Those conditions clearly have Maryott, 59, hoping the third time might be the charm. The former financial planner first ran for CA-49 in 2018, finishing eighth in the primary. He was Levin’s only challenger in 2020, losing that November by 6.2 points. This time around, he earned official endorsements from the state and local branches of GOP, which gives him an edge over his fellow Republicans.

LOL. The GOP endorsed an accomplished Loser. He finished 8th in 2018 and then lost a D+1 District by 6.2 in 2020. But, wait, there’s more…

Maryott was the only candidate in the CA-49 race who didn’t respond to any of the Register’s questions about his positions on key issues. But he’s a former Democrat who’s previously promised to try to “bring the temperature down” on contentious partisan politics. He’s running this year on a platform of fighting for border security, supporting school choice and more funding for police.

Bartlett sparred with Maryott over the job title that he’ll use on the June 7 ballot. He’s now listed as a “businessman/nonprofit executive,” with his campaign citing his work as an investor and with an unnamed nonprofit. Bartlett is listed as a “county supervisor/businesswoman,” as a real estate firm owner who’s involved in a startup that makes party cups people can write on.

The GOP endorsed a candidate who was too much of a coward to respond to the OC Register.

So, let’s recap today’s Bryno Lesson:

Democrat.

Chief of Staff for a Democrat Paul Caron

Democrats have “Noble Ideas”

8th Place in 2018 Primary.

Lost a D+1 District by 6.2 in 2020

Wussed out on responding to the OC Register in 2022

but wait, there’s more!

  1. What ever happened with the Trish Todd criminal complaint against Assemblyman Bill Brough?

Blogger’s Note: It is still on the DA’s Desk. She is also running for California AG as an NPP, so I am sure that has something to do with the delay
