You’d have to be living under a rock in Orange County to not be aware of the Scandal that has embroiled John Moorlach. One of his then Senate Staff was raped by Bill Brough. Moorlach claims to have not known about the rape and when challenged had to admit some prior knowledge – yet still tried to hide behind his disdain for the Right on Daily Blog to justify his callous indifference to the victim.

Worse, Tim Clark, who is John Moorlach’s “volunteer” Campaign Manager and was his Senate Cheif of Staff has been implicated in covering up the rape. Why? Perhaps it was because Bill Brough still owed Mr. Clark $44,000 which Clark was finally paid in October of 2015, some three months after he covered up the rape of Trish Todd by Bill Brough. You’d have to be a complete fool to think that Clark was not thinking about that $44K first and of course the negative news for his meal ticket John Moorlach who was fresh in office when Todd was raped. (BTW – Tim Clark and Bill Brough are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. I think they are both scum of the earth and as such I believe pretty much every negative thing I’ve learned about both of them)

So what is the significance of the Lisa Bartlett endorsement of John Moorlach? It was her revelation of abuse at the hands of Bill Brough in 2011 when both were councilmembers in the City of Dana Point that started the avalanche of events that led to the humiliation and defeat of Brough at the ballot box. Because Lisa Bartlett stood up in front of Fred Whitaker and a bunch of others who are currently trying to Save John Moorlach and who resisted holding Brough accountable, 5 other victims of Bill Brough’s are now known. These include people still actively working in Orange County politics.

Trish Todd got raped by Bill Brough. Tim Clark covered it up. John Moorlach feigns lack of knowledge of the whole affair. His and Clark’s handling of the scandal has been abysmal. So why did victim 1 seemingly set fire to victims 2-6 by endorsing the man whose Supervisor campaign is about to go up in flames over covering up the rape of victim 6? (Trish Todd)

When I first saw the facebook post of Lisa Bartlett endorsing John Moorlach I was enraged. It came across as Bartlett not caring about the other victims as she got what she wanted – Bill Brough out of the way seemingly clearing the path for her to run for State Senate unabated in 2022. Brough, because he is a sociopathic monster will look at this and claim vindication (as in Bartlett only accused him because she wanted to wreck him politically). Remember, Bill Brough is incapable of understanding he did anything wrong at any time even as he is allegely trying to justify the rape of Trish Todd to anyone that will listen. These are two of the worst case outcomes of this endorsement.

I did some research and learned that Lisa Bartlett had endorsed John Moorlach right after he lost his Senate Re-Election Campaign. This detail matters as the rape of Trish Todd was not fully known at the time she endorsed John Moorlach. Now, why Lisa did not pull her endorsement once known is another issue, but this fact mitigates the likely accusations of political cynics questioning her motives for coming out publicly against Bill Brough. However, if Bartlett was still having nightmares about what Brough did, you’d think she’d have told Moorlach to sit on her endorsement and not publicize it at least.

Now, Lisa Bartlett is going to be forced to have to publicly deal with the perception this has created.

This is where Tim Clark comes in. It is the opinion of this blogger, because I know Clark and his absolute ruthless lack of character that he knew 100% what he was doing. I believe he knew this endorsement and the timing of it would do maximum damage to Lisa Bartlett to the benefit of John Moorlach. In effect, Clark used Lisa Bartlett as a human shield for the moral failures of John Moorlach. Read a summary of the horrific crisis communication from the Moorlach Camp on this whole issue.

Lisa Bartlett because of her decision is isolated politically now. Andrew Do, Don Wagner and now Laurie Davies have all endorsed Kevin Muldoon. Bartlett is in even worse shape as she is clearly being used by the Corrupt Tim Clark and the morally failed John Moorlach as a political human sheild. Clark has made it clear in the communications of the Moorlach for Supervisor campaign that their next move is to use Lisa Bartlett as a hammer to further de-legitimize Trish Todd, Jennifer Rodriguez, Heather Baez, Maria Elena Banks and the anonymous dem staffer that spoke to the LA Times.

If you want to know why Women who get raped and/or abused by people in power are reticent and even afraid to come forward? Use Trish Todd as an example. Fred Whitaker in an email attacked her. It is common knowledge that Whitaker and someone who may or may not have been Tim Clark was calling people smearing Todd in order to jam down a party endorsement of Moorlach. The OC Register has apparently stopped covering the Moorlach saga because they don’t want to be forced to rescind their endorsement of Moorlach, the OC Lincoln Club and OC New Majority have chosen silence rather than correcting their errors – even as members of both groups are honeslty telling others about their buyer’s remorse of John Moorlach. Still worse, the Women leaders of the California Republican Party are silent on this whole issue. We were supposed to be impressed by all of them because they were Republican Women leaders. When our leaders – apparently Lisa Bartlett included – refuse to stand up for abused women who will?

Now Lisa Bartlett has a choice to make.

If she says nothing, then it means she is complicit and willing in protecting John Moorlach rather than being used as a human shield by Tim Clark and John Moorlach. Silence in the wake of this endorsement will permemently call in to question her motives for her original revelation of the incidents between her and Bill Brough. It will also smear the credibility of the other victims, because people will ask reasonable questions, like “what happened to the nightmares, Lisa? Or did those stop now that Brough is no longer an opponent to your senate race?”

If she makes a statement regarding the rape of Trish Todd and it is a weak statement it will be perceived as Bartlett trying to cover up her mistake.

If she makes a strong statement denouncing how Fred Whitaker, Tim Clark and others have handled this situation, it will restore her credibility.

Why Bartlett did not tell Moorlach no is a question I will likely never be able to answer fully. She could have revoked the endorsement or told Tim Clark not to use her endorsement – instead she tried to avoid conflict and now she is in the middle of the mess. However, what Bartlett chooses to do in the next few days in the wake of this will tell everyone volumes.

Lisa – get a good look at Trish Todd and then ask yourself how your endorsement of John Moorlach made her feel? Did you think of her and the others when you did what you did? The next move is yours, make it count.

29John Moorlach is a Conservative Icon. At least that is the frail defense offered for his long establishment record that suggests otherwise.

Take a breath everyone – read the Orange County Register. Hell, maybe the OC Register doesn’t even read their own paper before they endorse. They Endorsed Moorlach again in 2021 based on his past reputation. Then, along came Trish Todd. I’ve decided to go through my tour-de-Moorlach and have found dozens of gems that tell a different story about this guy.

“This is not the right time to increase fees, given the state of the economy,” Supervisor Todd Spitzer said after the meeting. “I don’t see this jeopardizing health at all. There’s no public outcry from the public to increase fees.”

I am now in a time warp – the complete “RINO Squish” Todd Spitzer (who bravely took out the colossal fraud and reputed womanizer Chuck DeVore in his Sup Race) got this one right. The impure Spitzer, whose lifetime CRA Score was in the low 90’s during his Assembly tenure was telling the OC Register that the time was not now to tax people to pay for more Restaurant Inspections.

This debate occurred in November. This is not some reference to Moorlach pontificating about taxes 20 years ago, or even in 2007… this is 2014. This is what we call a life pattern of Fee/Tax obsession.

The sole supervisor supporting the fee increase was John Moorlach, whose motion to increase fees and implement the red-yellow-green placards died for lack of a second, with no discussion. He was asked about Spitzer’s comment that public health would not be endangered.

Moorlach did not stop there – when questioned about Spitzer’s assertion that public health would not be endangered:

“I’m conservative and don’t support tax increases,” Moorlach said. “But this is not a tax – this is a fee related to a service. The people who benefit from this should be the ones who pay for it.”

Allow me to ask the obvious – did John Moorlach oppose Prop 26 based on the above logic? Prop 26 codified that fees = taxes and take 2/3 vote to increase as the democrats in the state legislature were jacking up entrance fees, tolls, dmv fees, license costs, etc. to try and circumvent Prop 13.

John Moorlach did indeed vote to jack up Orange County Property Taxes a staggering 500 million dollars.

Now Senator Moorlach supports adding $200 million to the state’s budget to service a bloated state bureaucracy and the issuance of $1.8 Billion in Bonds that will accrue $130 million in interest. I think he flunked CPA school.

John Moorlach once proposed an illegal alien tax.

It seems as if an entire class of people have permanent memory loss about John Moorlach’s establishment pattern of fealty to big government. If this is the status quo, why should anyone want to live in California if this is acceptable from a “Republican”. If it is, then there is no reason to try to stop or minimize the rampage of the democrats.

There are others running for Supervisor who have never voted to raise your “taxes”. There is a difference folks – Moorlach is dining off of his reputation, but simple investigative work exposes the truth.

The response to the raging email sent by the bruised ego brigade in the OCGOP has been swift and equally as brutal. Kevin Muldoon, the primary target of the raging email has responded with the proper class you’d expect from a top tier candidate for office: Announcing significant and major endorsements – won the old fashioned way, not behind closed doors. Please note that your intrepid blogger has chosen to support Kevin Muldoon. Muldoon announced the endorsement of Andrew Do yesterday.

Orange County Supervisor Don Wagner Endorses Kevin Muldoon for Supervisor
Kevin Muldoon Has Now Received the Support of a Majority of Republicans on the Board of Supervisors
Newport Beach, CA – Today, Newport Beach Mayor Pro Tem Kevin Muldoon announced that Orange County Supervisor Don Wagner has endorsed his candidacy for the 2nd Supervisorial District. Having recently received the support of Orange County Board of Supervisors Chairman Andrew Do, Muldoon now has the support of a majority of Republicans on the Board.
Supervisor Wagner is a practicing attorney with over 20 years of dedicated public service. Previously he has served as a community college district trustee, a state legislator, and as the Mayor of Irvine.
“Kevin Muldoon is a consensus builder who will protect you from government overreach and preserve liberty. He brings a fresh perspective to the Board of Supervisors. As the father of a young son, Kevin will have the next generation in mind in all he does on behalf of Orange County.”
“I am honored to have been endorsed by Supervisor Wagner. As a public servant he built an impressive record of commitment to fiscal responsibility, public safety, educational excellence, and economic growth. I look forward to working with him on the Orange County Board of Supervisors,” commented Kevin Muldoon.
Since announcing, Muldoon has been endorsed by Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, Orange County Board of Supervisors Chairman Andrew Do, Mesa Water President Shawn Dewane, Newport Beach Mayor Brad Avery, Former Mayor and Newport Beach Councilman Duffy Duffield, Councilman Noah Blom, Mission Viejo Councilman Greg Raths, Atlas PAC, Hispanic 100, Take Back California, Crime Survivors PAC and other local elected leaders and groups.
The Second District encompasses the cities of Costa Mesa, Cypress, Huntington Beach, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Seal Beach, Stanton, the unincorporated area of Rossmoor, and portions of Buena Park and Fountain Valley.
ABOUT KEVIN MULDOON
Muldoon was elected to the City Council in 2014, and re-elected in 2018 with 68% of the vote- the largest victory by a candidate in a Newport Beach city election. While in office Muldoon voted to cut taxes and fees, refunded money to ratepayers, fought against bond debt, and introduced a Charter Amendment that required a popular vote to approve city issued debt. A lifelong resident of Orange County, Kevin received his Juris Doctor from Chapman University School of Law and served as a Deputy District Attorney in the Orange County District Attorney’s office. Currently, he is an executive for a local technology company. He lives in Newport Beach with his wife and son.
Allow me to finish with this benediction from another candidate in the race:

If Republicans want to keep this seat in conservative hands, they should reject the candidacy of a recycled career politician who has done little to nothing during his 25-year career in politics. The 2nd District deserves better than a candidate who just months ago lost a winnable race, handing a State Senate seat to the liberal left. The 2nd District deserves better than a candidate with no path to victory because of his lack of real-world experience and real-life strugglesThe 2nd District deserves better than a candidate who offers nothing but embarrassing headlines due to his covering up of sexual abuse.

The OC GOP is fractured, it is disorganized, and divisive. They have the incessant ability to lose more winnable races than achieve victories. Under the current OC GOP leadership, you are seeing this across the County. If the OC GOP endorses a candidate, it is often best to look the other way because there is likely a more qualified Republican on the ballot.”

Thank you Don Wagner and Andrew Do for leading Orange County away from the cliff and selecting the top fundraiser and a fresh face for Orange County.

According to Moorlach’s own blog – he had a backpacking trip and a well deserved vacation, etc etc etc. Moorlach got blasted by the Fullerton Informer.

You know I am plain sick and tired of the phony phiscal conservatives that sit back and FOCUS ON SOME LAME FISCAL ISSUE WHILE THEY let our children be destroyed.  Mayday Moorlach has been up on this hill for how long and he is already not showing up for work on the most crucial vote of his life? I don’t care what his excuse was. They have wheelchairs, portable dialysis machines, IV’s with wheels, skype, airplanes, taxis, telephones and just about anything else that could have been used for him to get him into the chair he was sent to Sacramento to occupy. None of these are of any use when you are absent for the wrong reasons. WHERE THE HELL WAS JOHN? He was on a nature hike with his “kids”.

This is proof that John Moorlach was not ready to govern once elected and kind of backed in to the job. Orange County deserves better than an absentee Senator.

This pattern repeated for the 5 years he was a Senator. Moorlach should have known that he’d be needed to stand up for us. However, he had other priorities. Further evidence of his refusal to govern and lead is his indifference (and worse smearing the victim) to the rape of one of his staffers.

Mr. Moorlach even celebrated leaving Joel Anderson behind and on his own. Oh mama, this is getting bizarre quick.

I’d imagine that the anti-vaxxers burnt Moorlach on the mercury altar over this.

Does John Moorlach give a rip about anything or anyone anymore? Why is he running for yet another office?

Blogger’s Note: The supervisor race in Orange County to replace Michelle Steel includes the Crazed Katrina Foley (the communist from lockdown city Costa Mesa), Newport Beach Councilman Kevin Muldoon, Fountain Valley Mayor Michael Vo and of course career politician retread John Moorlach.

I still have not figured out the psychotic grasp John Moorlach seems to have over the OCGOP. Some of those guys seem like the Prophets of Baal from old testament lore. Kevin Muldoon who was attacked by Fred Whitaker just made a huge announcement. Andrew Do is one of my favorite politicians, when I met him I got an understanding for what kind of man he is and I’ve always tracked his political races. I know there are a lot of political undercurrents in Orange County, but Do is a good dude. He just went up another notch in my book with this move, too.

Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do

Endorses Kevin Muldoon

Newport Beach, CA – Today, Newport Beach Mayor Pro Tem Kevin Muldoon announced that Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do has endorsed his campaign to replace Congresswoman Michelle Steel on the Orange County Board of Supervisors.

A former prosecutor, educator, businessman and judge pro tem, Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do is fighting for Orange County taxpayers and working families in the First District.

“Orange County needs a leader like Kevin Muldoon on the Board of Supervisors.  He is a dedicated and trusted public servant with a proven track record of bringing people together to get things done.  I look forward to working with him,” said Supervisor Andrew Do.

“Andrew Do’s life story and his dedication to serving others is truly inspiring.  I am humbled to have received his support in this race,” commented Mayor Pro Tem Muldoon.

Muldoon is the leading fundraiser in the race and was recently endorsed by numerous courageous women leaders including former Laguna Niguel Mayor and Retired Orange County Board of Education Trustee Linda Lindholm, Former Capistrano Unified School District Trustee Anna Bryson, Former Secretary of the California Republican Party Patricia Welch, and Greater Irvine Republicans Executive Board member Suzanne Flores.  They are joined by the conservative free-market oriented Atlas PAC and Hispanic 100.

The second district winner-take-all special election to replace Congresswoman Michelle Steel will occur on March 9th.

The Second District encompasses the cities of Costa Mesa, Cypress, Huntington Beach, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Seal Beach, Stanton, the unincorporated area of Rossmoor, and portions of Buena Park and Fountain Valley.

— while I don’t think Michael Vo has a snowball’s chance in hell of winning, his release today was priceless and dead bang right on about the OCGOP —

January 26, 2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MAYOR MICHAEL VO RESPONDS TO OC GOP STATEMENT

Fountain Valley, CA – “I reject the statement released by the Orange County Republican Party condemning my campaign – a campaign focused on limited but purposeful government, lower taxes, fiscal responsibility, support for law enforcement, robust public safety, and addressing the issues of homelessness, COVID-19 vaccination, mental health, and food insecurity.

While I am a registered republican, I am not owned by any party. I do not owe any favors, and I do not answer to the establishment. When my family and I fled communist Vietnam, I made a promise to a U.S. Immigration Officer that if he saved us, I would do all that I can to give back and serve the American people. The American people are who I answer to. The OC GOP should be ashamed for calling me selfish and condemning my campaign – for I am nothing more than a refugee turned public servant.

Let me be clear – no candidate is owed this seat, but the OC GOP is under the impression that a certain candidate is owed this seat, evidenced by their behind-closed-doors approach to endorsing candidates. Republicans in the 2nd District will decide which candidate is the strongest defender of personal freedom and free enterprise, and the most principled candidate in this race – and it is not the OC GOP’s hand-picked candidate.

The 2nd District deserves better than a candidate with no path to victory because of his lack of real-world experience and real-life struggles. Under the current OC GOP leadership, you are seeing this across the County. If the OC GOP endorses a candidate, it is often best to look the other way because there is likely a more qualified Republican on the ballot.”

Blogger’s Note: Michael Vo – I have NOTHING to add to your statement. The next time I am in Orange County, I will buy you a drink. You sound like the kind of guy I’d like to meet. I wish you’d have run for OCGOP and could have replaced Fred Whitaker. All that said, Kevin Muldoon has way more campaign money, structure, endorsements and the like than you do. I am glad you are here in America and are still grateful to this country.

Fred Whitaker: Resign now.
