It is true. Even in Placer County, County government is laced with unhinged liberals. At least that is what I think of Placer County Counsel.
See the Threat Letter Sent by Placer County Counsel. Less than 3 hours after Placer County Clerk-Registrar Ryan Ronco called and left me a voicemail, she went berzerk and over the top. At least that is what I think she did and when you read the attached letter embedded earlier you will agree. Ronco was trying to resolve the issue and before I had a chance to call him back, I got the letter. Now, its’ party time.
In one letter, Placer County Counsel attacked the 1st and the 4th amendment, threatening to prosecute me for having an opinion and threatening to seize the website I created.
I wonder if County Counsel will threaten to prosecute me for not wearing a mask?
As we detailed earlier today, Greg Carnage and other left-wingers got triggered over a website put up by yours truly. www.placerelections.org. It appears they have an ally in the offices of un-elected bureaucrats in Placer county.
They are basically threatening to prosecute me for making a website that looks similar to the Placer County Elections Website, so they say. What I believe is really happening is that county counsel does not like me very much because of past political fights and seeing an opportunity to come get some, she did.
It does not take a whole lot of digging to see that the offending logo is different (Which they admit to). The site is different, as is the freely available clip art used in the site versus the county elections site.
County Counsel proves her incompetence (My understanding is that it is her alleged incompetence that explains the board of supervisors an unusually long time to hire her from interim to full time county counsel) by doing the following:
- Ignoring the clear and easy to find disclaimer on the about page
- Ignoring the clear and easy to find disclaimer on the bottom of the home page
- Basically inferring that they county counsel are the arbiter of what is “similar” and acceptable in terms of a website (see also censorship)
- Not having the presence of mind to realize I do not live in Roseville anymore. (ahem, simple research or a phone call or two for contact info?)
I made a couple of minor edits to the website to make it obvious to even county counsel it is a PAC effort even though the original site was more than adequately disclaimed. I did this because Placer Clerk-Recorder Ryan Ronco asked me to in a polite voicemail, however County Counsel’s actions prevented a peaceful response. I deal with legal bullying in a public and messy manner on purpose.
I am also wondering if that whole department are going to call in sick with mental nervous issues after President Trump is re-elected.
My guess is that if I have to go to discovery on County Counsel and the Junior Assistant that wrote the letter, (and other staff in the office for that matter) I will find that they are all democrats and some may well be donors to democrat candidates as well. At a minimum, they will be left-leaning NPP with a discernible pattern of political bias.
All of the above factors make the prospect of wasting the county’s money to prosecute me for a misdemeanor quite absurd. Note: County Counsel can’t prosecute me, they have to convince the DA of Placer County to file charges. They also have an extremely high legal bar to prove injury in order to get a judge to rip off the website I own.
In the meantime, there are a variety of things, like possessing drugs, stealing $950 worth of stuff, vandalism with $950 or less in damage, etc. that are apparently less heinous in the eyes of County Counsel than putting up an elections website. The people that complained? If they had their way, there would be no police left to arrest me!
Welcome to the People’s Republic of California where Placer County Counsel threatens to prosecute you because she does not like a website you put up advocating for candidates after her fellow leftists called in complaints.
