Yikes.

We chronicled how Stanley promoted Sgt. Christian Dekker to Lt in the waning days of his reign of terror. We are sure the 4 checks Dekker wrote to Stanley’s Campaign had nothing to do with it…

Dekker, along with Correctional Sgt. Martin Tochtrop pulled some legendary stunts at the jails they worked at. These included allegedly setting up inmates being released in error and leaving recording devices in several locations of places he was assigned to. Dekker is also alleged to have cheated on his time cards, racking up thousands of dollars in overtime he should not have gotten.

It is alleged that even in his last weeks as a Sgt. (Lt’s are salaried) he arranged to be on the clock on a couple of holidays.

When Dekker was promoted to LT. he was shipped back to a jail. I believe it is the SW Jail. Regardless of wether it is RPDC or the SW Jail – just today Dekker was up to his old tricks. He dropped in on a couple correctional deputies in their “Pod” and when he left the area, a flashlight was left behind by Lt. Dekker.

One of the two correctional deputies had the presence of mind to pick up the Flashlight and open it. Inside the flashlight was a recording device.

While this may only be a misdemeanor in California, it is a massive violation of the “POBAR” Statute. Christian Dekker has obviously forgotten that there is a New Sheriff in Riverside County.

The two Correctional Deputies did not file a complaint for fear of retaliation. Remember, Right On Daily has written about Correctional Deputies that have been terminated out of Retaliation – see also Tammy Smoak for one.

If you can direct me to where and who I need to talk to in order to file a complaint against Lt. Dekker on behalf of the two correctional deputies, I’d be grateful. This kind of garbage needs to stop.

It is even more infuriating to realize that Dekker was able to successfully sue the County of Riverside for Hostile Work Environment when he is creating the very thing. (And has been for at least the last decade)

  1. Let’s us not forget about Steve Kusy and his puppet Steve Favero who both donated time and money to the Stanly Sniff reelection campaign. Gotta roll all these morons into the same ball of mistrust, self promoting, ain’t ever did shit in their career bundles of crap.

Those c.d.’s should have filed a complaint, now, he is going to deny that shot ever happened… watch.

  2. What Dekker did is criminal in nature, and should be prosecuted. Unless he got permission from Captain Dan Anne, than Captain Anne should be held accountable for allowing Dekker to record the deputies without their knowledge, or consent. There needs to be an investigation into these village idiots that are in management positions, but that won’t happen because it will cost the county money in settlements, and the BOS would rather give out thousands of dollars to criminals that file a frivolous complaint than a loyal county employee with a legitimate claim. Dekker maybclaim to be a Marine, but he does not have the honor and integrity that real Marines adheres to in their personal and professional lives.

  3. Christian Dekker is an embarrassment to RSO, and the Marine Corps. He and Robert Epps come from under the same rock, and forgot that the yellow footprints stood for honor, courage and commitment, which are foreign concepts to them. Christian Dekker should never have been promoted because he was advanced beyond his capabilities, and is only looking to advance his career by ruining the careers of others. There should be a formal inquiry into these allegations, and if Dekker’s superiors knew what he was doing. I would say let the DA conduct the investigation, but not many people have faith in the current DA because if he won’t conduct an investigation into the Sniff regime, he won’t do anything about Dekker violating the law.

  4. Marty Tochtrop is no better than Epps and Dekker, and no it’s not open season on Marines, there are numerous Marines working for the Department that are a cut above everyone else, but it appears these embarrassments fell through the cracks.

Marty was another buffoon that should never have been given a command, but he was friends with Jerry Gutierrez who took care of him. Christian Dekker committed a crime if he attempted to record the staff members unbeknownst to them, this is a low down and dirty trick, even for the likes of Dekker to commit. But Dekker don’t care because he’s a Lt. now, with all the privileges that come with the position. Chesty is rolling over in his grave right now with how Dekker, Epps and Tochtrop have behaved.

The reason for command is to give those under you the opportunity to advance in their careers, not to destroy them for your own selfish gain. But Dekker is the type of individual that looks to benefit at the misfortune of others. Kurly fries is a prime example of what happens to people like that.

  5. Dekker with a flashlight in the jail should have been a red flag because I don’t remember any Sergeant that I worked for in the jail carrying handfcuffs let alone a flashlight. The only things they carried was a radio and a pen. And with sap pockets on his pants how was it that Dekker just happened to leave his flashlight in the pod. And as a Lt he works days, so why was Dekker carrying a flashlight during W-2. There are a lot of questions that need to be answered.

  6. The scumbags who did S/Sniff’s dirty work aren’t going to change their unethical behavior because there is a new leader. That’s who they are as people. You don’t turn your ethics on and off like a light switch, if u gave yours up before you will do it again. The snakes head was severed but it’s body is sliming its way around every station.

  7. Anyone that’s been gotten some ROD love as much as Dekker and Epps deserves some special attention from the new admin and it’s sad that isn’t happening quickly. Bitching here feels good but won’t do anything until someone takes it to management. Hope they’re reading this and looking into things. A recorder in a flashlight is classic weasel Dekker. The biggest red flag was the fact he was walking anywhere. By the looks of him, he don’t walk much at all. He spent his whole career planning on his PERS retirement and looking at him, he won’t have it too long. Cardio, Christian. Or a salad…You might get away with your shit here but if you don’t learn how to put that fork down it don’t matter.
Robert Epps is way overdue for a comeuppance. He’s nothing special at all. Just another mid-level manager. Only real thing that stands out about his “character” is his commitment to fucking over anyone that stands in his way. Those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach. Those who can’t teach, teach PE. That is how he ended up on the drill field and the academy. Only good for running around and running his mouth. He is not one of Chesty’s finest. Neither of them are. It’s seize and uphold the MORAL high ground, gentlemen. Not seize and uphold equipment that isn’t yours, other cop’s careers or dirty little secrets for blackmail. Those boys just need to go. Maybe Clark saved them a chair in the R&D time-out corner. Those three in the same office would be like Darwin awards. Imagine the backstabbing fuckery.

  8. I agree with your assessment @roadrunner, and there are others like Kent Werges, Robert Rose, Mike Manning, Aaron Kent, Kevin Smith, Steve Fredricks, Jon Wade, Nathan Kaas, Robert Cornett, and the like that should be held accountable, but no one is expecting anything to happen because any investigation would result in a financial liability to the county for them to admit they screwed up in promoting, and protecting these tools and their illicit activities. And if you look, they just promoted Zach Hall, so what’s next, naming the mat room at BCTC after him. (And no matter how much you tell people Zach, it’s not OK to cry during an IA interview). Yes something should be done about these self-serving individuals, but the county won’t do anything that will cost them money, so good people that have been screwed over will not receive their day in court. So the wicked will continue to prosper as good folk continue to suffer. The Board of Supervisors have never been known for doing what is right, moral and ethical, all they care about is how much money they have in the bank to spend on their pet projects.

  9. Mr Matroom Hall to Captain… talk about draining the swamp…. bang a subordinate, she gets promoted to sgt and you get capt… moral has definitely improved in rso, but idk about this.

  10. We can only hope that Sheriff Bianco has a spine (and a plan). Hopefully he promoted Zach so he can terminate him when he bangs another subordinate while on probation.

  11. The Press Enterprise just did an article on how the county is paying out on lawsuits, but all they do is pay out to low life’s and crooks as they deny righteous claims by county employees, which is how they can claim an 80% denial rate. Shame on you Paul Angulo for denying legitimate claims by county employees just to save a dollar. Maybe the P.E. should do a story on how many claims the county denied that were legitimate. Does @done wrong at Perris have a claim, very much so, but they won’t pay a dime to him that he is due. I know it’s not about the money, it’s about accountability but money is the only thing Algulo and the county understand. Paul Angulo is no better than Sniff, DiYorio, Vest, Wood, Evans, Kubel and the rest of the leaches that were running the county in the ground. Paul Angulo should be the next one featured on R.O.D.

  12. Zach’s girl don’t play around and will keep him in line (and kick him in the a$$ when necessary), but we can only hope Zach has a weak moment. But the “Zach Hall mat room” at the Academy would be funny. Although Hall has a lot to learn about leadership, and playing politics in field operations is going to get someone injured. And the Mo Val pursuit just proves he is more concerned with politics that officer safety. And his response “a suspect with a gun is only a misdemeanor” is an unacceptable response for a manager.

  13. And let’s not forget how Zachy Farms “threw the rata down” when he was in charge of the mobile field force during the UCR deployment. That was an embarrassment to the Department, but Hall never took responsibility for his failures on that incident. And he’s fit for a command? And for those of you that try to defend Zach, just look at the video of the deployment.
