Screw the kids, I have an election to win. That is the theme of Stan Sniff’s regime in the Riverside Sheriff’s Department.

An inside source came forward with explosive info via text message. The screenshots are embedded here.

Read the embedded screenshots carefully. They illustrate several key points.

  1. Stan Sniff sent his best investigators all over the US to interview kids, at least those on the list. The goal was to suppress release of information and lawsuits
  2. This source confirmed what I knew about the case being put as Open/Suspended in order to prevent the file from being accessed VIA Freedom of Information Act.
  3. Kevin Duffy had a VHS tape in his desk (think 10-20 years prior to 2009) of him raping another kid. This is an inside detail only people with direct knowledge of the case would have.
  4. Another source told me that sometime within +/- 24 hours surrounding the breaking of this case, the second floor had Captain Leonard Purvis retrieve any and all files from Hemet Station regarding this case and deliver them to the second floor.

Is the second floor destroying evidence as I type this blog? Where is the VHS Tape? What did they retrieve from the Hemet Station?

Many local media outlets are either in the bag for Stan Sniff or too cowardly to cover this story.

KSEQ and the Riverside Press-Enterprise should both hang their heads in shame as they have become accessories to re-victimizing the children affected by this monster. Those children were denied the help they needed because of the cover-up these two outlets are now aiding and abetting.

In case any of you have any doubt, please also look at these screenshots from 2012 that are still up on the internet. A lot of people know about this and have known about it for a long time.

Riverside Confidential will roll on.

In case you missed it, see the explosive story here as a brave retired investigator came forward to blow the lid off of one of the biggest cover-ups by Stan Sniff there has ever been. We’ve documented several of them, knowing we were only scratching the surface.

KMIR followed up as worried parents are making the connection to what happened:

“My son was a cool kid and thought that Duffy was a cool guy and I don’t know yet if Duffy had his hands on my kid but I feel that you should release anything and everything to anybody who wants to know and needs to know just for closure, we have that right, we have that right.”
We (KMIR) again requested an interview with Sheriff Stan Sniff to give him the opportunity to address the concerns of mothers like Murray. He declined.
Kevin Duffy was apparently well-known and thus, I received the following from a former employee of the Riverside Sheriff’s Department:
I contemplated posting this myself, but I’m afraid of retribution.
I was sitting thinking about the Duffy case, bothered by it. Its nine years old. Should we be talking about this? Are we dredging up the past for no reason? Are we retraumatizing Duffy’s family? Is this fair given the amount of time which has passed?
As I sat there, watching my kids playing, I remembered how the department had a history of keeping criminal activity as quiet as it could, for its own sake, not so much for the victims, who rarely saw justice, but rather were victimized in a new form; breach of trust. I can cite case after case where the department victimized the victims in favor of its own reputation.
I won’t delight you with the details of those capers here, those cases are barely relevant except to show a pattern of abuse, but would also dilute the impact of the Duffy case, which is a disservice to the victims, at this point. They should hardly have to endure yet another disservice from those in the public trust.
It struck me, that the named victims in this case were all disadvantaged and at risk youth, exposed to Duffy via the Sheriff Athletic League, of which he was President. Duffy used his position of trust and authority to maneuver into position to victimize these kids, breaching their trust in him, but also in law enforcement.
And then, they sought refuge in the same department that Duffy worked for, which to its credit, investigated the allegations with vigor. But then something happened. Who made the decision to let Duffy walk free for 10 days, despite signs of him being a clear suicide risk probably thought that him killing himself would be helpful to the victims and to his family. He killed himself, but the carnage remained.
The department didn’t just fail those victims by allowing Kevin Duffy to kill himself in order to avoid prosecution, it revictimized the victims. It took away their power and their right to seek justice. Their right to be made whole by a court of law. By silencing and suppressing the continuing investigation, they left countless other at risk children hanging and twisting in the wind, unable to come to terms with what was done to them, not just by Duffy, but by the department who broke their trust and failed them through not just neglect of their primary duty, but an outright violation of it, in my humble opinion. The Riverside County Sheriff’s department, destroyed the trust of children.
I know the Duffys. I feel terrible this happened to them. They don’t deserve having to relive this, but neither do the victims in this case and they probably think about it constantly. And while I have great feeling for Pat and Patti, I have to say that their suffering, while great, pales in comparison to the pain these at risk children and their families have lived with since they were preyed upon by Duffy and then the department.
As stated previously, this kind of suppression and containment didn’t start with Sniff, rather its been happening for a long time. It doesn’t make it OK. Leaders must be accountable for their actions, rather than passing blame, the buck, and maintaining the status quo. Excuses don’t cut it. Accountability and transparency, not press releases to a single news outlet at 2200HRS, containing accusations of electioneering and bias.
The buck stops with you Stan Sniff. You were the boss in 2009. You are the boss today. Stop acting like a boss, start behaving like a leader. Echelon Front! Stop hiding behind your office door and fix what you have broken. Stop sending your minions and high dollar Facebook trolls to do your bidding. Man, up.
It may be too late for you to keep your job, but maybe you can save your soul. Who knows, in time, maybe they will name that empty jail in Indio after you, memories seem to fade, after all.
I could not have written this better myself.

Coverups. Aaron Kent, Christian Dekker, Mismanagement, Lt. Rose, Lt. Bostrom, Kurly, Lyndon Ray Wood, Christopher Brandon Ford, Kevin Vest, Captain Tripod, cheating, overtime abuse, subjective terminations, sex abuse and the list goes on…

In Riverside County, the story of the founder of the Sheriff’s Activity League who was a serial child molester is exploding. An investigator came forward to the local media.

Sniff’s response was horrific politically.

The facts of the case are disturbing, former Master Investigator Kevin Duffy was molesting children in the Sheriff’s Activity League for years. It came apart on him in 2008 and the investigators were starting to piece together details of his double life. They had a total of 7 confirmed victims with as many as 250 more children defined as high risk.

With the walls closing in on him Kevin Duffy committed suicide. Note, if you watch the video, you learn that Duffy was not arrested and attempted suicide twice before actually killing himself. It is also clear that the second floor at the time was hoping he’d off himself ostensibly to be able to close the thing down and make it go away.

The details of this case are critical –See Stan Sniff’s response:

Sniff claims 2 confirmed victims, there were 7.

Sniff claims the case was closed properly, it was not. It currently shows as Open/Suspended which is why no one can do a “Freedom of Information Act” to get the file. THIS IS KEY

Sniff claims the case was closed properly, yet the investigators at the time were ORDERED to end the investigation. THIS IS ALSO KEY

Sniff’s response indicates he is quite upset about this revelation and it shows in the press release where he attacks the private investigator. The problem for Sniff is that the retired people and people on active duty that worked this case are still angry about being ordered off of it and still remember it. I’ve communicated with more than one person with direct knowledge of this case.

For 9 years Stan Sniff has been quiet about this case, but has been forced to double down on the cover-up. More will be revealed, including details of actual lawsuits that followed in 2009, including what county staff and admin staff did to try and keep the lid on it. (Yes, Sniff lied about that as well in his press release)

Stan Sniff has himself a major-league issue that he has made worse with a lie-infested 10PM press release.

Note: As of 4:10PM 3/29/2018, the Riverside Press-Enterprise has written nothing about this story, continuing their clear pattern of being in the bag for the corrupt Sheriff.

According to a confidential informant, Thermal Station is doing the same thing Captain Tripod did and Captain Jason Huskey is doing. (I will bet Kurly and Purvis are as well)

You know what is interesting about Palm Desert and their mismanagement of contract hours. Thermal just started the same thing about a week ago

Normally Coachella runs 3 deputies for all three watches. Well apparently they are way under [hours]

Well now they are forcing us by giving us yellow days for at least a forth body In Coachella and a sixth body in la quinta

Yellow days are mandatory overtime that the contract cities get stuck with the bill for.

The contract cities also pay for rusted out vehicles to patrol the streets, too. How nice.

We are short staffed as it is and they want to backfill hours and even mentioned in briefing that they will be forcing us to work it to catch up on hours

Baseline budgeting – a government practice where the next budget is based off the baseline set by the prior budget. It encourages fraud, abuse and waste because if they don’t use their budget then the next year’s budget gets cut. Apparently this overtime game is a system-wide practice.

I’m hearing Maybe Lt Manning will be promoted from within Thermal Station or captain Jimenez will come from the courts

It is our understanding that Lt. Manning is going to replace the retiring Roy Grace. Lt. Manning is reputed to be a raging jerk in the mold of Lt. Mark Bostrom. Anyone with information about Lt. Manning is encouraged to come forward. You can remain confidential.

The confidential informant continued:

Coachella has had some shitty cars for years

Everyone on patrol is now sharing just two banks for the bwc in the report writing room so we usually have to take someone else’s bwc out to make room for our own .
Bwc on the dang side cause no room
What would the ACLU do if they knew their vaunted BodyCameras were not being properly maintained or charged for use in the Thermal Station?
Riverside Confidential will continue…

We’ve been using Captain Jason Huskey and the Palm Desert Station as a poster child for the fiscal disaster that is Stan Sniff’s legacy at the Riverside Sheriff’s Office.

We’ve detailed the disaster that is the Palm Desert Station featuring deputy comments about the equipment. It was relayed to us that after our first graphic, unedited expose’ on the Palm Desert Station that new computers are being brought in.

Rancho Mirage City Council Candidate Michael Harrington has been railing on the conditions at the Palm Desert Station and has even been threatened by Captain Jason Huskey because of his outspoken criticism of the state of the equipment there.

You will note that they are spending money on cosmetic improvements, but not on fixing the broken down vehicles or the broken equipment in the station. Going to Fry’s and getting a couple new computers does not count. Oh wait, they can’t go to Fry’s for Computers or to the local garage to get the cars fixed, they have to use the extremely overpriced county maintenance facility and procurement process! (More on that grotesque waste of taxpayer money soon)

Recently, I was alerted to a staffing surge coming out of the Palm Desert Station.

There are 3 beats in the City of Rancho Mirage – usually patrolled by 2 Deputies each. As of Friday 3/23/2018, there suddenly were 4 Deputies per beat, a Motorcycle Deputy, a School Resource Officer, and 2 Community Service Officers on the job.

Where has that been all along? Are they patrolling in the dilapidated cars?

Palm Desert Station has 5 Beats. All are now covered, despite the past practice of rotating coverage. Normally 3-4 Deputies are on Patrol supplemented by Mandatory Overtime.

Now – there are 5 Deputies on Patrol, Plus a a Roving Corporal, Plus 3 Motorcycle Cops, a K9 Unit, 2 School Resource Officers, 2 Community Resource Officers, plus one Special Enforcement Team Deputy.

However, there is no boost to the rural area which is the size of Rhode Island, it is still only patrolled by 2 deputies.

In a previous post, we lit up Captain Tripod over a caper where she realized she had 400 hours of overtime that had been billed and not used. The problem with public budgeting is that if you do not spend all of your money, you lose it. This practice is called “Baseline Budgeting” and encourages fraud and waste. Your next year budget is set based off of your current year’s usage… this furthers the spending addiction of government. It is possible that Captain Huskey and Sheriff Sniff are burning up unused overtime hours.

See the embedded text message from a deputy. BWC = Body Worn Cameras. Remember, we blasted Sheriff Stan Sniff for siding with the ACLU on immigration, sanctuary cities and body cameras. You will see that the equipment is malfunctioning. What would the ACLU say if they knew their vaunted Body Cameras were not working?

Jan Harnick is a Republican Candidate running for supervisor out in District 5 where Jerry Brown Appointed extreme left wing liberal democrat activist Manny Perez is running for his first election.

Harnick committed two fatal mistakes that show her judgement is impaired. Similar to so many I have met within the Republican “Cool Kids Table”, Harnick’s deep inner fear of rocking the boat has overtaken her judgement.

She was confronted with the state of affairs in the Palm Desert Station complete with all of the deputy comments about the disaster at Palm Desert Station. At a 3/5 Event, she said in public that the Palm Desert Station “Has the best training and equipment”. I write this again, she was told otherwise and presented with evidence, long before we had the photographs of the dilapidated vehicles. It is clear that Sniff ordered window dressing and ass-covering band-aids be put on the Palm Desert Station due to the scrutiny of the conditions there, but they exist system-wide within the Sheriff’s Office. However, Jan Harnick would have been able to see the truth had she bothered to look.

Despite claiming that she was not going to take a position in the Sheriff’s Race, she met with Sheriff Sniff for three hours (ostensibly about the budget) and came out of the meeting spouting his talking points.

It is easy to support the status quo. It is what I’ve been treated to repeatedly by Republican leadership.

I’d rather be tortured by ISIS than vote for a democrat, but I have very low expectations for Jan Harnick and doubt she has the courage to take out a hamburger from the drive-thru let alone the endemic corruption that has beset the Sheriff’s Department. If I had a vote in Riverside’s Sup D5, I don’t know what I’d do.

You won’t see articles like this about the real conditions under Stan Sniff’s leadership in the Desert Sun or the Riverside Press-Enterprise. You will here on RightonDaily.

Stay tuned, because the legacy of failure of Stan Sniff will continue to be exposed.

P.S. If Captain Huskey had any integrity, he’d retire and go in to his law practice full time. His performance is an embarrassment.
