As some in the faith community struggle with this issue – worrying more about Donald Trump being mean than the societal issue of the attack on US Soverignty – let’s have a look at the real statistics related to illegal immigration:

Most states and our federal government have kept information and statistics about illegal immigration, crimes committed by illegals and the costs borne by you the U.S. payer out of public view. It is in fact difficult, but not impossible to locate accurate crime statistics involving illegal immigrants. The statistics are buried both to suit a political agenda and to avoid public outcry. Once you read this article, you will quickly understand why.

An article written by a spanish-speaking former detective in the President Trump-Hating The Hill has some damming statistics in it:

Research conducted by the federal government oversight organization Judicial Watch in 2014 documents that 50 percent of all federal crimes were committed near our border with Mexico.

Of the 61,529 criminal cases filed by federal prosecutors; 40 percent or 24,746 were in court districts along the southern borders of California, Arizona and Texas.

So here goes two arguments, one that “most” of the illegal aliens are not coming to commit crime and that illegal aliens do not commit crime at a higher rate than American Citizens. Further decimating that narrative is this:

The U.S. Department of Justice documents that in 2014, 19 percent or over 12,000 criminal cases filed by prosecutors were for violent crimes; and over 22 percent or 13,300 cases were for drug related felonies.

That same year, the U.S. Sentencing Commission found that 75 percent of all criminal defendants who were convicted and sentenced for federal drug offenses were illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants were also involved in 17 percent of all drug trafficking sentences and one third of all federal prison sentences.

The U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Sentencing Commission reported that as of 2014, illegal immigrants were convicted and sentenced for over 13 percent of all crimes committed in the U.S.

If you believe that illegal aliens number around 12 Million, then they are 3.5% of the US Population. This also means that this 3.5% of the population account for 13% of all crime convictions. This is a horrendous crime rate. The narrative about the peaceful immigrant goes out the window.

This is similar to the canard of Muslim Refugees. They come from countries that support terrorism at the rate of 20-40% depending on the survey, it is insane to let people in when 1 in 4 on average want to kill infidels!

Yet, in the minds of some – I am a dirty rotten racist for pointing this stuff out.

According to the FBI, 67,642 murders were committed in the U.S. from 2005 through 2008, and 115,717 from 2003 through 2009. The General Accounting Office documents that criminal immigrants committed 25,064 of these murders.

To extrapolate out these statistics, this means that a population of just over 3.5 percent residing in the U.S. unlawfully committed 22 percent to 37 percent of all murders in the nation. This is astounding.

25,064 people would be alive today if the US was enforcing border laws. It is that simple.

The problem is that the democrat party want poor people on welfare and the us corporations want the cheap labor. The USA should have a right to vet immigrants and refugees. We have a right to decide who comes in to our country, and anyone yelling and screaming has another agenda. Think it through.

This will continue.

What about Brian Dahle? I first met Dahle in 2011 when I was helping Andy Pugno against Beth Gaines and Shasta County Supervisor Les Baugh against Ted Gaines. Les told me what a great man and Christian Brian was. Dahle was then a Lassen County Supervisor. Dahle was supportive of Les against Ted Gaines despite the fact that Gaines was a prohibitive favorite. Seeing Dahle honor his friendship of Les Baugh meant something in the political world of shifting sands, backstabbing and expedience. This was even more amazing as Dahle was in an uphill fight for Assembly.

I could not reconcile myself to support Vince Fong who opposed Dahle for Assembly GOP Leader. I had told some people I was leaning heavily towards Fong until I spoke to Jay Obernolte about a hour before the sudden caucus and vote to replace the disgraced Chad Mayes. Jay told me something that still resonates, “Do not let Chad Mayes’ endorsement of Brian bother you. It was about getting back at me for running against him. I ran because we needed change and was happy to step aside when someone stepped up that could get an easy majority…” Chad Mayes’ endorsement of Dahle was so disturbing that is was causing me to doubt 5 years of experience with Mr. Dahle.

I may not remember Jay’s words exactly and I kept the conversation in confidence until the information he gave me was outdated. I waited until Mr. Obernolte told me he was done running for leader before deciding on who next to support. I then called Josh Cook, Dahle’s Chief of Staff to ask him two questions (which I will detail later) as I had made up my mind to stick with Brian Dahle after seriously considering Vince Fong. I spoke to Jay at around 8AM 8/24 and called Cook around 8:30AM 8/24, Dahle had won election by 10AM so I had no chance to tell Cook of my decision beforehand.

Why I could not support Vince Fong:

His associations with Jeff Randle, Mitch Zak and David Reade were the single largest reason I could not reconcile myself to support Vince Fong for leader.

Randle and Zak are Pete Wilson alum, on their watch, they attempted primary challenges of most of the conservatives in the legislature, oversaw the appointment of liberal judges based on an abortion related litmus test and were reliable to oppose every major California Conservative that ran for office anywhere in CA. It was clear they, along with their #1 Ally Kevin McCarthy were trying to set up shop again under a Vince Fong leadership. Reade has been a lieutenant of theirs for years.

I tangled with Randle/Zak in a very public way in the run up to the Meg Whitman for Governor Campaign in 2010. I had breakfast with Zak on Christmas Eve Day of 2008, they made an offer. I took said offer to Steve Poizner as I wanted to warn him before I completely turned on him. About a year later on Dec 2, 2009, they wrote a $25K Check to greenfaucet.com, a sister company of the defunct Red County Blog (where I was blogging while being paid by Steve Frank). On 12/6/2009, I was expelled from the Red County Blog and became the subject of a media drill while they denied ever having made an offer to me. I’ve never had a serious conversation with either of them since other than exchanging pleasantries at CRP Convetions as Zak is a pretty easy guy to interact with. (I should note that the proprietor of Red County ended up in massive legal trouble for fraud, related to a fake financial planning business he ran as well as the blog)

In one respect, I owe those two a debt of gratitude as I have made a fair amount of money in paid political consulting fees since that debacle and the attacks, while painful at the time, hardened me and made me far stronger than I would have ever been before the attention.

David Stafford Reade? I’ve written about him for years, but suffice to say he was responsible for the very brief, but intense smear campaign against Dahle. I’d alleged that he wanted Joe Justin’s Job, when in actuality any of the $170k-$200k a year jobs at the top of the Assembly Caucus food chain would have spiked his pension for the rest of his life. (The corrupt state worker pension bases your lifetime payments off of your highest year) As well, a Fong Leadership meant Reade would be even more influential, giving him veto power over future legislative candidates.

Given that he has been a capo of McCarthy, Spirit of Democracy and a host of “Third House” PAC’s, it would have been a brand new swamp. Except, Mr. Reade would have been one of the head alligators. Given that the North State is littered with the expended remains of Reade’s scorched earth, it would not have ended well for the GOP.

They brought Kevin McCarthy, the liberal Republican Godfather (whose record in congress is quite a ways to the right of Paul Ryan ironically) in to the mix. All the 2nd in command of Congress accomplished was delaying the inevitable by 3 days.

Then, Brian Dahle beat the establishment in 2017. Ironically, aided by the fallen tyrant Chad Mayes against this machine

I just could not ally with Vince Fong, knowing that these guys were going to set up shop, for party reasons, ideological reasons and personal reasons. I am sure Fong is a good dude, but ‘ya dance with those that brung ‘ya.

Dahle’s opponent, Rick Bossetti was an arrogant jerk. The entitled, primadonna attitude was likely due to the fact that he was an ex-MLB star. Dahle was such a stark contrast to Bossetti that David Stafford Reade, who brought the machine against Dahle could not dent him. Kevin McCarthy, Doug LaMalfa, Jim Nielsen, all the donors and their massive expenditures attacking Dahle rang hollow. The Spirit of Democracy spent about $220,000 before withdrawing with about 3 weeks to go in the election.

Dahle routed Bossetti. Brian Dahle beat the establishment in 2012.

For those of you scoring at home, that’s twice that Dahle beat the Establishment. Yet, he was smeared as a liberal. It was recounted to me that Jon Fleischman, who still has a relationship with David Stafford Reade was involved in the attacks against Dahle as a conduit of information. Reade was attempting to pin down the Orange County Delegation and carve them from Obernolte to Fong versus Dahle.

When Mr. Fleischman and others in Orange County were presented with the pure fact that Dahle beat the world in 2012, it unraveled that narrative then the following facts decimated any further narrative against Brian Dahle:

California Alliance to Protect Private Property Rights: 100%

Lifetime 14% from California League of Conservation Voters – despite being smeared as a green Republican by David Stafford Reade and others. Heck, the Sierra Club came in at 18%, I guess we should tar and feather Dahle for apostasy.

Despite getting blasted for taking Labor Union Money – here is the California Labor Federation giving Dahle a PERFECT 0% Committee Vote Lifetime Score. I wonder if this came up in Reade’s research? Ok, so Dahle gets a 15% lifetime rating for his floor votes, what a union stooge.

The Capitol Resource Institute – who supported Dahle’s opponent in 2012 after taking thousands from Doug LaMalfa and Jim Nielsen, rated him 100%

Howard Jarvis rated Dahle at 98% in 2016

The NFIB chipped in a 100% rating.

In 2016, Howard Jarvis, the CA Pro-Life Council, Crime Victims United, and the California Labor Federation all endorsed Dahle. Heck, the NRA rates him a lifetime A and endorsed him for good measure.

Yet, somehow this is the pedigree of a moderate? I guess the Police (PORAC) and the Firefighters Unions, who frequently endorse Republicans were supposed to be alarming?

Even though I have history with Dahle, I don’t know him super well but he does return my calls. I have talked to him several times over the years. He has not been involved in party politics, due once again to a string of County Republican Central Committees under the control of David Stafford Reade (in 2016, Reade directed over $500K in to about 16 County Central Committee Races in the North State) that had been pretty much hostile to Mr. Dahle. His experience with the CRA was basically the same as the genesis of mine and David’s mutual animosity was a fight over several paper clubs all over the North State. As a result, I have not had much opportunity to cross paths with Dahle. Can you blame him? When the GOP on the ground looks like a paper empire of David Stafford Reade, I’d rather get my wisdom teeth pulled while conscious than deal with that.

Let’s answer the $64,000 question: Was there a deal with Chad Mayes? No. Refer to my opening comments from Jay Obernolte.

Will the staff brought in by disgraced former Assembly Leader and current CAGOP Vice Chair Kristen Olsen be left in place? For those of you new to this, Kristen Olsen terminated all of the Conservatives that had been on staff for years and replaced them with left-wing Greenies who believe that decimating the economy in the name of Mother Gaia is the way to the promised land for the CAGOP. They are so convinced they are right, they hatched this Cap and Trade plan and then became enraged when the grassroots revolted.

A few examples of the players are below:

While Mike Zimmerman was hired by Connie Conway, his legacy is a net loss of 6 seats in the Assembly. He needs to go.

Seren Taylor’s profile shows that he is a “Republican” from Brooklyn. Enough said, his advice may as well be Sarin Gas to the CAGOP.

Joe Justin is also employed as a consultant beyond his job being Chad Mayes’ Chief of Staff. He was involved in the run up to Cap and Trade heavily.

I’d put David Stafford Reade on the list, but his quest to get one of these massively overpaid positions ended (for now) with the defeat of Vince Fong. Reade works for Jim Nielsen (who I like despite Reade) as his Chief of Staff and will live on to fight another day while we here at Right on Daily chronicle his political life in graphic detail.

There are a host of others involved in the disaster of the last 5 years for the GOP since Ms. Olsen’s rampage and it is clear that some of them may not be employed for very long.

I don’t envy the job Brian Dahle and Josh Cook have ahead of them. But, I trust a Lassen County Supervisor whose brain has not been polluted or chemically altered by a big city to make some clear decisions. Cook? He is as hardcore LDS as Dahle is Evangelical Christian. We do have moral, ethical leadership at the top of the GOP now.

I want Brian Dahle to succeed. I hope you do too. What’s left of the CAGOP depends on it.

Disclaimer: The accounts of this post are based on a variety of sources that include Capitol Staff, District Staff, Actual Assembly Members, Lobbyists, Political Consultants, Donors and “Third House” employees. While some were on the record, most were not and therefore all are off the record.

In my 20 years of Republican Politics, this is the first time I was ever engaged in a leadership battle in either house of the legislature.

I got a call on 7/18 asking me if I would participate in an effort to take out Chad Mayes after he led the legislature in to the Cap and Trade debacle. I was going on vacation on 7/20, but a sense of duty and another call from California Republican Party National Committeewoman Harmeet Dhillon convinced me to get my political battleaxe for the 1000th time in my 20 years. I allowed my vacation to be frequently interrupted with calls about the mayhem going on in the wake of the Cap and Trade vote in California.

For the first time, traditionally “establishment” figures were enraged. While I have gone in to detail about what I believe to be the nexus behind the cap and trade vote, the string of events leading up to the cap and trade vote, and a very pointed and personal expose’ on what I believed to be behind the despotic behavior of Chad Mayes, this was the most unique movement in my 20 years.

The pattern of Chad Mayes’ behavior in the last week solidified my belief that he is indeed a real narcissist beyond any of the nearly meaningless uses of the word in modern politics. And in just the last week I learned:

  1. Some have feared that Chad Mayes is going to burn everything to the ground on his way out. I do not believe his colleagues will allow that. I will go in to detail why, but I do believe that they agreed with my diagnosis (but not my solution) and took steps to stop Mayes from going on a Narcissistic Rampage.
  2. I was told that Mr. Mayes did not come to the realization that he was not going to survive as leader until 2 days before the first caucus. Let that sink in. The State Party and his home county set fire to him and it still took a couple days later for reality to finally arrive. What did his fellow Assemblymembers do to cause Chad to think he could still win? What other enablers did Chad Mayes have?
  3. I have been told that Mayes had threatened to resign completely (thus taking his fundraising with him) if not re-elected and had narcissistic rage episodes frequently as his bullying started to lose its’ effectiveness.
  4. Mr. Mayes believes that he picked his successor, thus assuaging his gigantic ego. What I am learning in the hours since suggests that there were deals cut.
  5. Mr. Mayes endorsed Mr. Dahle, not because of anything Mr. Dahle did or said – but because Brian Dahle was not Vince Fong, Melissa Melendez or Jay Obernolte, all of whom challenged him publicly. It was a revenge motive.
  6. Mr. Mayes is still leader until the September 15th end of session, even though the appearance has been created that he is out. This will further cement in Mayes’ mind for the rest of his life that he was a victim and was wronged.
  7. Mr. Mayes is still holding fundraisers with the donors he has sold his soul to. See this flyer for his 8/28/2017 event. Those Donors were a major factor in the foibles of the last 72 hours.
  8. Mr. Mayes will go to his grave believing he did the right thing and the rest of us were wrong.

What I learned is a frightening view of how lowly regarded the grassroots are by those in positions of power and by their staff. It does not matter that Joe Turner, Arthur Schaper or others flew off the handle, that is an easy smokescreen to cover up the contempt.

What I learned is how far the Republican Volunteer Groups have fallen, and the swamp knows it.

What I learned is that social media has killed activism, and the swamp knows it.

What I learned is that our current Assembly Republican Caucus as a whole has been moved quite far left by both staff and the donors that spend big to elect them (part of the swamp).

What I learned was a laboratory for the widespread anger that Donald Trump tapped in to in order to take over the Republican Party Nationally and get nominated for President. There are few or any leaders in partisan elected office and those that are there are usually too nice to swing the sword. This is why Melissa Melendez was retaliated against by Chad Mayes, when one person stands out, it is easy to shoot them. People are desperate for leadership, I saw a ton of #EPICFAILS of leadership in this saga.

I saw leaders worried far more about appearances than dealing with the gaping wounds and chaos created by Mr. Mayes.

It is the incredible weakness of the grassroots as a whole, when coupled with a lack of courage from elected leaders that empower legislation like Cap and Trade to pass. Then the circle is completed when the grassroots rebel furthering the contempt and suspicion that has always existed.

I ascertained a better reason for why several people in government hate me with a purple passion, it is not as much that I torch people, it is that there are few people like me with the guts or the platform to be effective at it. So, when Joseph Turner re-emerged after more than a decade away from politics hurling B-52 loads at Chad Mayes, people naturally assumed we were connected and working together professionally. I do pay a price personally for the stuff I do, but I made peace with that years ago. I don’t delude myself in to thinking I am perfect as I likely made a few new enemies and lost a few more friends and had I chosen my words or actions differently, might not have quite as many new fans or ex-friends.

I am not justifying all of Joseph Turner’s actions either, but his anger and passion are not unique and people in office need to stop drinking the third-house kool-aid and reconnect with their districts. I hope there are dozens of Joseph Turners that emerge from the ash heap of the California Republican Party, because until our partisan electeds listen to the pulse of the people in their districts, these sorts of painful, public disasters will occur.

Watching the gyrations and the maneuvering for 72 very long hours including Congressman Kevin McCarthy intervening and helping thwart a vacate the chair vote on Monday, members switching allegiances, watching Jay Obernolte’s supporters dessert him, seeing a different breed of swamp creatures rise up behind Vince Fong hoping to take over the bowels of government and the deals that led to Brian Dahle getting elected Assembly leader confirmed many of the worst conspiracy theories I’ve ever heard at a Tea Party.

I am going to follow up with an open letter to Brian Dahle as I hope he succeeds. (I actually was on his side against the establishment in 2012 when he first won election and I will tell that story in that follow up post) I am extremely concerned after I have begun connecting the dots.

Suffice to say I have damn near lost hope for the California Republican Party due to what I have seen. I am not ready to declare that the grassroots have achieved a pyrric victory with the take down of Chad Mayes, as that will be determined by Mr. Dahle, but the rest of the package has been like re-living my first 180 days of sobriety borne out through what I have seen and observed.

Aug 232017

What is known is that Chad Mayes has been taken down. He has endorsed Brian Dahle to succeed him.

What will Jay Obernolte Do? He is the swing vote here, literally. I will not be choosing between Dahle and Fong until I hear from Jay. I do not abandon friends on the field of battle. I am not sure what happened to the 10 votes Jay had assembled, but that appears to have reduced by half or more. Update: Jay Obernolte is reputed to have signed an endorsement of Brian Dahle, waiting for a confirmation.

Melissa Melendez is not being mentioned in any conversations at all – even after she got run over with a truck by Chad Mayes. Update: Melendez endorsed Vince Fong as reported to me by her staff

I am being told that Vince Fong could have as many as 13 votes.

And, I am being told that Brian Dahle could have as many as 13 votes.

Get where I am going? This thing is far from over.

I was contacted by “Third House” people and a legislative chief of staff telling me that Brian Dahle had wrapped this whole thing up. Apparently not.

I am also unsure if what I have been told about my arch nemesis David Stafford Reade is true. (as in he is lining up for the high paying caucus advisory jobs)

I’ve also been told that Mitch Zak and Jeff Randle are behind Fong and are attempting to re-assemble the old Pete Wilson money machine behind Vince Fong.

I’ve been told that Fong is receiving support from Congressman Kevin McCarthy who is calling for him.

Does Dahle fire the staff brought in by Kristen Olsen and retained by Chad Mayes if he wins? Does he go more conservative? What does Fong do?

The current mess the Assembly GOP finds itself in was the creation of Staff recommendations and unprincipled leaders. It does no good to replace bad staff with other bad staff?

I am confused as I proudly supported Brian Dahle over the “Munger Machine”. Dahle pulled of a stunning victory and won his primary. Now, Dahle is the so-called moderate and the choice of the donor / lobbyist community.

The world looks backward. I will keep investigating further as the vote will not be happening until 8/29/2017.

Aug 232017

I had written a few things previously about this, apparently the following are true:

I had diagnosed that David Stafford Reade wanted a larger paycheck in order to spike his government pension and to get more power and control. I had incorrectly stated that Reade wanted Joe Justin’s Job, it is actually the Caucus Chairman Richardson’s Job.

Congressman Kevin McCarthy has been making calls on behalf of Vince Fong, who is David Reade’s meal ticket to his spiked pension.

Vince Fong’s people, including David Stafford Reade are eviscerating Brian Dahle in an attempt to try and stop him from winning as I have been told by people in the know.

I am not sure where this leaves my friend Jay Obernolte or Melissa Melendez who bore the full wrath of Chad Mayes.

This thing is developing and is completely fluid.

If Vince Fong loses the leadership battle, it is likely that David Stafford Reade’s stellar reputation in the capitol was a factor.
